And if they don't make a list then what is there punishment? Their pick gets skipped? Not likely.

Its all about being considerate from my angle. If you are going away for the weekend or won't be on, let people know, and if you are 2 spots away give Clark 2 guys.

People havn't done this, and I think its unfair. I think the time limit of 1 day will make a bigger impact in having people PM a list than anything else.

The problem is that if they don't get on 2+2 as is the case with Nicholasp, PMing them won't do much good. I'm sure he has already been PMed by at least one person telling him it's his turn. Eventually you will have to either designate someone to pick for him (what I would do), or bypass him in the order and let him pick when he comes back (don't like this as much).

I agree completely with this.

Well only one person would need them. I'm not saying we get all 40 entrants, but if we have 25 or 30, I'm sure it would help.

You are the one putting your personal interest over "whats good for the draft."

The draft is progressing very very well. Do you realize that this thread is on pace to be one of the biggest of all time? Do you realize that countless people have said in this thread that they're loving this? Do you realize that I've gotten(no exaggeration)over ten PMs thanking me for this and for the work I've done? How can you look at all that and claim that "the good of the draft" is suffering under the current rules? It simply makes no sense.

The draft is very successful. You guys are the ones who aren't personally happy.

+1, especially with the draft being for everyone. I more than welcome all commentary here regarding the draft even if you're not in it.

Everyone got all bent out of shape because a couple of people didn't pick fast enough, and that's unfortunate. But making new rules is just going to present a whole new bunch of problems.

If people continuously go over a 24 hour time limit, I'm sure Assani, or Clark, or someone will speak with them about their commitment.

If your overall goal of this thread is the best possible basketball discussion, and the lease possible BS, you should definitely keep it the way that it is. Some may think that a time limit will limit grumblings about when people are going to pick, and this is true, however it is also going to add all kinds of other BS to deal with when people miss picks, etc. run on sentence, ftw.
I couldn't have said it better myself. I've loved this entire process except for two times when it was extremely frustrating: Now and when this issue came up the first time.

We are not changing this rule, so lets just move on.

Assani

If somebody doesn't pick for two days, and they haven't been on 2+2 in that time, PMing them won't help. Everyone is supposed to PM the next person to draft anyway to inform them that they are on the clock. If the person is on 2+2 and checkes their PM box, they will see this PM and maybe others from other impatient posters. who want to pick. If they are not on 2+2 during this time, you have no idea when or even if they will return - that person could have just gone busto or quit poker and is taking a long hiatus from 2+2. It could be a week, a month, or longer. You have to establish some kind of hard time limit at which point you will designate another poster to take over the absent person's team until they return.

That being said, we disagree. I'm fine at leaving it at that and seeing how things carry out.
I havn't taken anything you said personally. I think both MeBenhoe and ePiPeN11 greatly underrate how much planning and time this takes me to organize and its annoying when MeBenhoe tries to tell me how I'm just 1/40 and I need to let them vote on everything. But I respect everyone's opinions and I can completely 100% honestly say that I've tried my very best to make this draft successful(and aside from this debate it has been).

ePiPen11 and MeBenhoe,

If you really want to speed up the draft then do this and call people when its there turn. That would greatly speed things up.

I'm assuming that Nicholas will come back at some reasonable time(i.e. not a month from now). At that time I will talk to him via PM, let him know that everyone is upset, and ask him if he can prevent it from happening again(not that he always has to pick on time but to at least PM someone his list if hes not gonna be around). If an unreasonable amount of time goes by(3 or 4 days) without hearing from him, then of course I'd be willing to find a replacement for him.

next time don't miscap my name on purpose to stress "E-PIP-EN" instead of how it really is "EPI-PEN"

I really wish this thread would have something besides McHale and time limit arguments over the last 100 posts...

Here is a potential time-limit compromise: time limit is 24 hrs, but every owner is allowed to break it ONCE during the draft (where they have up to 3 / 5 / 7 days to make the pick). Next time they break the 24 hr. limit, their pick just gets skipped until they show up. I think this rule is so lax that most of the "no time-limit" crowd should find it acceptable, but it would still prevent somebody super-inactive from completely screwing over the draft.

It's really not complex stuff, infact it's really simple. Maybe it's hard for you, but no one else has ever had a problem with it. Since you are struggling with it so much, you can always say "Epipen" or "epipen" if that will make it easier for you.
