skip assani, too. It's pretty pathetic he was all "I know what I'm doing" early on and now he's responding to every thread but this one.

I think its pretty funny that people bash me for not coming up with a solution here, yet not one person bothered to PM me. Its a pretty thankless job running these things....I get tons of complaints and critiques about how I do it and backhanded insults like JoA saying how he'll do a much better job later on, yet 99% of the people reading/participating enjoyed it a lot and would've never thought of it if it weren't for me. Also funny to me how everyone wants to make changes they're all for it, but then when works need to be done to do it(PM all the owners) its "Eh Assani is in charge, let him do it." It takes work to put these things together...**** you guys who just complain.

I don't think you need to PM everyone, but we've all been deferring to you on these decisions the whole time. Why would that change? Just say "yeah let's do 24 hours let's roll" and we're moving.

oh please assani, I knew this no time limit crap would become an issue, the only surprise is that it took until the 6th or so round to really become a huge one, I expected sooner and tried to make u change the rule.

When you declined it, you sited that you knew what u were doing etc. and when I asked you if I could start one like this with a time limit, u said ok and gave me permission. Then I tried to start another one of these cause I like ur rules that u set up, just the no time limit thing was dumb, and everyone who signed up for my league was threatened by u stating that anyone who participated in my league would be banned from this one.

assani,

I think you're doing a good job overall and want to thank you for running the show. With that said, I have a pick ready so whenever you give me the green light I'll put it up.

24 hour rule implemented. If you are skipped, pick when you can.

Go.

Nothing wrong with 24 hour rule, but can we add to the thread title something like:

*** 24 hour rule in effect, let's finish this thing!! YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ***

I think a 24 hour rule is fine, in which case AC-Cobra should already be skipped and whoever is next should be allowed to pick.
I mean, like.. assume you have guys comparable to players you could find in the 9th-10th rounds?

With whateverth pick it is, the xorbie Rejects select Craigh Ehlo.

My team so far:

Baron Davis
David Wesley
Reggie Lewis
James Worthy
Chris Bosh
Benoit Benjamin
Jerry Stackhouse
Craig Ehlo

Ehlo fits in very well on this team. He didn't really get going until he was 26/27 and his peak was from ages 28 to 31. This works well with my, as I have a serious gap if/when Reggie Lewis is unable to play. Ehlo cannot replace Lewis, but he is a great role player and I have no difficulty starting him at the 3 with my run n gun line up once the team is hitting the older years (during which I should still be able to compete).

While Ehlo didn't win too many defensive accolades, he was a good enough defender that he drew the tough assignments frequently. He also got a reasonable number of steals (1.5/game over his peak) so he will fit in well with the overall team philosophy. He was also a pretty good rebounder over his peak at about 5/game. Basically he will contribute on the defensive end and fit in well.

Offensively, Ehlo was never very efficient but he isn't a bad 4th or 5th option. Career TS of .523 but he was better than that during his peak (besides one really strange off year at 29). He was a pretty respectable 3pt shooter and he was athletic enough that he could finish at the rim. He also got about 4 assists/game compared to 1.8T O during his prime (2.8/1.4 over his career so the ratio is pretty constant). I would say he's a very poor man's Shane Battier, which means I'm pretty pleased with where I got him.

Also, put who is to pick next in your post and PM the person that is next. I never get PM'ed, it isn't the end of the world b/c I check but there is no excuse if your name is on the post saying your up AND you have a PM waiting.

I don't want to have an argument with epipen about who he would have been able to get (or what sort of value) in the 9th-10th rounds because that would actually take longer to resolve than just finishing this draft.

Then he could just take any 3 people that are available now. Why not? The biggest reason I would see is because of trades that have happened, but right now we're talking about a pretty small percentage of total minutes. If someone has a weakness at the wing spot, taking Craig Ehlo is not really going to affect people's perception of your team. People have really more or less made up their mind about teams, and saying "well, it was close, but those 900 minutes from Greg Ostertag convinced me." That's who we're taking now. White guys with weird last names.

Sure it's not going to make a major difference, but consider the difference when Boston played LA and we have Posey out there against Luke ****ing Walton. Having a guy like Ostertag be able to play your back up minutes and take over if a starter gets injured is a minor consideration but it could certainly make a difference between two close teams.

Yo, Ostertag is a big, goofy Ding-Dong who plays tough D and gets under good centers' skin. He also has a positive WSAA fwiw. I can't say he's anything more than the 8th best player on my team, but surely he helps round out my squad.

Even if its just for aesthetics, we def need 10 guys per team. What happens when arguments turn into "you only have one shooting guard who can't even play that good of D, how do you think you're going to stop my team that has Jordan, MICHAEL JORDAN!!!!!"

We at least need 2 players at each position imo...

Round 8, pick #320: Randy Foye

This is mostly a long-term pick since Foye has yet to live up to his potential. This season should be pretty telling for him since he will likely start and be the primary backcourt threat for the Wolves. I believe that he will be a very nice player in the long-term, giving me the option to move him into the starting SG spot and Nick Anderson over to the SF once LJ starts to decline around 30. Immediately he will be able to give me 10 or so decent minutes/game @ PG/SG with good 3pt shooting.

Team so far:

PG - Gary Payton
SG - Nick Anderson
SF - Larry Johnson
PF - Rasheed Wallace
C - Tyson Chandler

Bench:
SF/PF - Antoine Walker
PF/C - Antonio Davis
PG/SG - Randy Foye
