I know he's good and all, but all I remember is the azz-whoopin' Melo put on Blatche last season. Then again he does the same thing to Lebron...

With the exception of Luther I think the last few picks have been pretty good. One of the reasons I took 3 point shooters early was because I didn't want to be faced with having to pick up one dimensional players just for shooting later on. I wouldn't call Luther an elite 3pt guy by any means, he's been pretty inconsistent throughout his career. Still, he seems to be pretty good some other things..

I am pretty sure this pick is just a ploy to drive up Blatche's N2 trade value....

Blatche is fine. He's the type of low risk high reward that is a steal this late in the draft.
Don't even offer a trade then if it isn't close to fair

u could always offer one of ur picked players, regardless ur trade wasn't THAT bad it was more of nopair's trade which was an insult although urs still was def unfair

Blatche should not be guarding a SF, especially one of Melo's caliber.

Also I know it's kinda early to ask this but I know there was talk a while ago about another one of these drafts where we get a player for one year and one year only (we can choose which year) and 82 games (they can't get hurt)

I am in love with this idea and I think it's a lot easier to argue and actually decide a winner if we do this system, since we won't be dealing with so much uncertanty.

Also if we do this, we should do it with the more serious people only and enforce a 24 hour rule (I don't care if we only get 20 people or something because of this, although obviously the more the better).

I never received a PM that it was my turn, either way, I am taking Mario Elie. I will have my write up done later tonight.

Damn. Nice pick. I'd been thinking about him.

Yeah. I looked at him a few rounds ago actually and forgot about him. Getting tough to do picks cause its so irritating to keep cross-referencing the "picked already" list.

Elie is a sweet pick imo. What I remember most about him was being a reputed defender. Seems like a steal here as many were contemplating him a couple rounds ago.

Elie is a nice pick, he is a great shooter as well, even though it takes him 4 minutes to load up that musket of his.

Yeah it wasn't a knock on him. To be fair, Washington was very depleted when they played.

+1 for considering Elie last round. v good player. You have to discount a little bit from his offensive peak, as it was during the short 3 era, but even still it's a steal here.

No, Childress still plays in our league since its a different "reality"

Andray Blatche is only 21 but has shown a lot of flashes of talent. First off he is already a good defender and great shotblocker. He has great mobility, can handle the ball well, and can shoot well all for a guy of his size.

He has a ton of potential, has improved every year, and fits very well with my window as my team will not be ready to compete for titles by year 4, and by then Blatche will have had 7 years in the NBA (came straight from HS).

There is a ton of speculation around this pick obviously, but I think in a few years Blatche could end up being 4th-5th round talent (and maybe even higher than that), so it's worth the risk at the end of the 8th round.

Ugh imo(and I'm a Wiz fan)

Yeah I don't think this is debatable if Drazen is car crash prone.

What's really fun is kicking around undrafted players and thinking of hypotheticals. I came up with a particularly good one when D104 and I were kicking around names last week or so.
