TS% isn't enough of an overall talent evaluator. And JR's issues being mental don't really disprove my statement. Nothing about his rookie or sophomore year say to me "this kid is gonna be a star". It could happen, but I doubt it. He shot OK, passed OK I guess, but he didn't do much else well. Mediocre rebounding, high TO rate, bad defensively.

Despite his limitations his usage was sky high and he was lauded as an up and coming star before it was really deserved. Perhaps if he landed on an established team he'd have developed a bit better. That's why I feel a bit sorry for him.

Durant the next JR? Probably not but wouldn't be the most shocking thing ever.

HE's a pretty good defender otherwise I'm pretty meh about him. His PER and TS% aren't bad for this point though although 2 of the last 3 seasons he's missed 60 games+, also in 2004-2005 he missed 27 games.

I'm waiting for Bobbo's writeup, but to say he's a pretty good defender is an understatement. Pretty much every advanced metric has him right behind KG and Duncan. Offensively he's extremely good, one of the best players in the NBA without the ball.

Injuries are a concern, but not as much as the amount of games he's missed would suggest.

So he's the 3rd best post defender in the NBA and offensively "extremely" good, which I would define as top 6 at his position, making him pretty much a slam dunk all star if he's ever healthy. Let's all take a deep breath.

adjusted +/- has huge sample size concerns, and Nene played 1300 mins in that first study, compared to 3K and 2.2K by KG and Duncan that season.

Drtg of 102 is good but nothing stellar. Perk's was like 97. I'm seeing at least 5 better big men this season.

He's "solid" defensively. 3rd behind Duncan and KG is absurd. And he's hurt all the time. Has regular issues with his weight due to said injuries (or maybe vice versa).

It's amazing the Nugs didn't win it all with all this elite talent. That would've shut the haters up. At least, moreso than a second straight first round throttling.

KC, I wasn't trying to say that he's on par with KG or TD defensively. I think he's vv good, better than just "solid." I used the advanced metrics to show that he's rated well above average.

Weight issues have been blown out of proportion. The only time he came in heavy was 2006/7, and was that way for about 20 games. This season, he came in at his rookie weight, he just looked heavy because he got ripped during the 2006/7 season.

Injuries are definitely a concern, but they've been so for guys chosen many rounds ago.
