Round #7 / Pick 243 - Rodney Rogers
Pretty much the consummate 6th man, winning the sixth man of the year award in 2000. Adds a reliable level of mid-range jump shooting to my team, and isn't a bad 3 pt shooter either at a career 34.9%. Yes, his rebounding leaves much to be desired for a guy his size, but I'm hoping to use him in more of a pick-and-roll role, so that shouldn't be such an issue on the offensive end.
Luckily, what he lacks in defensive rebounding he makes up for with solid defense. D-ratings of 99, 98, 104, 97 and 96 as a 28 to 32 year old, and double digit win shares in the 2000 and 2001 seasons, despite playing less than 28 minutes per game.
His W/L shares are a pretty terrible early on in his career, but then you notice that he was on the mid-nineties Nuggets and Clippers. As soon as he moved to Phoenix as a 28 year old his ratio shot up in respectability.
