I'm mildly shocked that Jackson fell this far, and think he is very good value here.
Well, the main reason, is probably that his 24yo season is when he suffered quite possibly the worst ankle sprain in NBA history and kind of - not a shadow, what's something halfway between 'shadow' and 'fully substantial', a pudding? k -became a pudding of his former self. You're getting 41 pretty kickass games, though, and he turns himself into a pretty good 3-point specialist later on, so you got that. I figured Jammin' Jimmy J wouldn't even be drafted, which is a shame b/c he was my favorite of the Three Js (I'm sorry, Jason, I was young and silly and strongly influenced by dunks.) He'll be able get his momma somethin' nice now, which helps me rest a little easier.

Just because he sprained his ankle in real life during his age 24 season does not mean that hes going to in our league.

yeah we basically all hire really awesome lawyers to convince everyone else why our guys won't get injured, or in assani's case how drazen definitely had that car crash comin' to him.

lol - I still think thats gotta be one of the most dead end arguments made in this whole thread...aside from the McHale section of this thread (which epip wasted about 200 posts defending against himself)....the Drazen accident argument made no sense and shouldve been an open and shut case imo.

I don't know if he "had it comin" but I think it's fair to assume that 80% of the time Drazen's going to die in a car crash at least 43% of the time and that 20% of the time he might still die in a car crash 5-8% of the time.

interesting, because it seems like he basically does what ainge does (your last pick). toney's stats (and who he played with) indicate that he was used in what was basically a two point guard system (with cheeks), so his ballhandling duties/abilities were similar to ainge.

should be an interesting writeup for two reasons: his history with boston, and you trying to convince everybody about his injuries.

You're team appears to be really small with Brandon, Ainge, and Toney now....How do you plan on guarding a team with 2 tall and effective wing scorers?

Short career obviously a concern, but otherwise hes solid imo.

McHale is not even one of my top 10 favorite players of all time, I just realize how great he was.

the reasons why this (him going a long time ago) is not true:
1. he was a nutcase (the gun thing, the super long holdout, feud with JKidd) and most teams don't want a locker-room cancer
2. pre-injury, he wasn't close to an efficient shooter, and couldn't hit 3's at a decent clip either. his bulk stats were pumped by him playing a lot of minutes.
3. his propensity to injury (his post injury career was by no means healthy), not to mention athletic players are more likely to suffer ankle/knee injuries due to higher risk behavior

good value at this point though, just nothing colossal

I doubt the ankle really killed him. He had a good year the year after, then started to suck.

toney pick is OK I guess. Nothing special. I have a hard time commenting on his 3-ball as he shot all of 400 of them in his career, only over 100 in one season. Didn't last long. Turnover prone. Good shooter though.
