Picks have been sent to Lurch and Dudd. Dudd has said he'd pass it on if he logs off.

Fadi if you get yours in I know Seadood was ready to go as well we can get a bunch of picks up in a row. I have lunch now but I'll pm someone my picks if necessary and I can do writeup later.

Really weird pick imo. Are you actually going to argue that Ransey doesn't quit early in this also?

Going with David Lee. Best player on the Knicks by far this year. A garbage man who likes to get o-rebs. I won't play him much with DHoward but I like his efficiency and rebounding skills.

really was considering Lee but I feel it might be too early for him. But then again he's a total stud.

I'm on the clock right? Pick within 30 mins. Still debating between a couple guys

What timing, I log in just as FaDi's pick goes up and so we can get his and Seadood's back to back. Anyways, hate the Ransey pick. I hadn't heard of him, read the writeup, assumed he was a solid player who retired early and that's why I hadn't heard of him. Not so. Even before he retired, his career was in a sharp downward spiral. He averaged ~15, 16, 11, 10, 9, 7 points per game, and 7, 7, 4, 6, 4, 3 assists per game. He's not an efficient scorer with a career TS% of .499. I just don't get this pick, he was a bench player with declining minutes who retired early, you could have easily gotten him in the 10th round if you really, really wanted him. I'm also meh on Bobby Phills, other than one huge outlying year, he was an average usage scorer who shot at an average efficiency. Good three point shooter, but it's going to be a few more years before he gets that shot. Saw he made second team defense once, so at least he brings that to the table off the bench, but I prefer instant offense from my sixth man more than defense.

also I'm just gonna go on record and say wtf on the Phills and Ransey picks. I haven't seen any mail-it-in performances like this since the Lakers last night.

edit: OK maybe Phills pick ain't too bad. Ransey though wtf

I love david lee for an off the bench big man. Super solid. Great rebounding and off the ball play, you dont need to ever pass him to ball and he can still put up a monster double double game.

I just checked out FaDi's team, and Ransey is the only point on his team so far. If he wasn't good enough to start in the early 80's, what makes him good enough to start in this league? Couple that with his short shelf life (even if he doesn't retire, he was in a full on decline), and this pick is just strange.

Love David Lee though, he's a stud if he can stay healthy.

Dudd,

Bobby Phills is Seadood's 5th pick. Not a 6th man.

All,

David Lee is pretty good. Seems like his stats are in the mold of an A.C. Green type (aka Larry Smith/Michael Cage). Also he's a pretty awesome dunker. So there's that.

It might be a little early for David, but I think he's going in the next 30 or so picks. I think Bobbo and Assani liked him as well as myself. He is not as good defensively as I would like from a bigman but Cliff and DH are both above average / very good defenders. I like that he scorers efficiently is a garbage man. Seeing how high guys like Horford, Biedrins, etc. went, I don't think it was that early, he's not much worse than them.

sorry for the delay. You're all such clowns that there are a lot more good players left than I anticipated (though I'm sorta glad Lee got taken cuz I would have debated that for like an hour). Could have gone in a lot of directions, but ultimately wanted a defensive minded 2-guard so I could play Ricky in the 6th man instant offense role.

I almost hate doing this because the guy is a box, but I'm taking John Starks. write up will be up in a few minutes.

David Lee is a very solid player. He wouldn't have lasted past my next pick 8 from now.

Re: Phills: I didn't want to get all Epip with the "omg he was such an awesome defender" but his defense was the main reason I drafted him. I actually saw very little of him play, but everything I've read talks about him being an elite defender, and his stats back that up. There are actually better defenders out there with a higher TS%, but I chose Bobby because he was a better 3 point shooter and passer.

Starks - Really looking forward to this writeup.

David Lee: Very nice. Drafted Cage over Lee b/c i was worried about Lee's defense, but it's hard to say since his team is a joke.

Round 6: Pick 221: David Lee - PF

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pxus57NG6ow

I wanted Devin Harris as a backup PG and possible backup 2, but since he was gone I wanted the best available player for me team. Now I think there are some older vets who have better careers but I think David Lee has a chance to be a really good player especially since the bum known as Isiah is not on the team any more. This guy should get more minutes seeing he is the best post player the Knicks have right now. Also liked to get my first white guy on the team in addition to the guy banging former WPT host Sabina.

Now his D isn't that great but his rebounding and scoring ability are what I was looking for.

His PER is 18.2 for his career and this year he was 24. HIs TS% is an outstanding 62%, not sure why but it's probally due to him dunking a ton. His reb/36 are also pretty damn high at 11.2 which is something I really liked and 3.8 o-rebs/36 so he should be putting back some balls.

One good thing I noted is his rookie year he shot 57% from the line and the last 2 years he averaged about 81.5% which is a huge improvement. One thing I didn't like is he missed a decent amount of games his first two years but only missed 1 this year.

As others have pointed out to me, with Howard in he isn't the ideal backup but I already have another big man who can shoot with Clifford.

I haven't honestly seen him that much in action but I hope he can run well, but I know he's an energy guy with some passion.

Team:

PG- T-Hardaway
SG- S. Smith
SF- A. Iguodala
PF- C. Robinson
C- D. Howard

6th man PF-David Lee.

Can OP move to draft thread, thanks.
