I am not going to get into an argument w/ Epi and Nicholas, but a comment like "Player X is really good @ defense, he just spends too much energy on offense and therefore is only ok @ defense" is a terrible argument. I'll let you guys figure out why, since you both are bright. (So JJ is, at best, average at defense, but likely sub-par)

I knew about the Sean Elliot pick for a longtime since I traded the pick to Lurchy, obv, and I like it. Good thing is the injuries dont occur until a bunch of years, so you get incredible value for a good period of time before you no longer et him.

Im excited to see BLJ's pick too.

I'm not sure you realize how terrible of a shooter Antoine Walker is. He is probably what would happen if Bruce Bowen was forced to take 20 shots per game.

Round 6, Pick 221: RUN JMC selects: Bonzi Wells



I feel that my starting 5 has a strong core of guys who can run and cause some trouble. I could use some perimeter defensive help off the bench and thats where Bonzi comes in. Wells has posted some pretty sick defensive ratings in his career and is a tank to try and get by. On offense, Wells is a threat on the block due to his strength and ability to post up smaller players. Coming off the bench is nothing new for Bonzi...he's done it better for some teams than others. He clashed a bit with JVG over conditioning but it was later resolved. Unlike some of the other defensive players drafted recently, Bonzi isn't completely useless on offense which I find to be a tremendous plus. Plus, with the Suns trainers, conditioning won't be an issue so I have the perfect 6th man LDO. He's another great rebounder too which will help at fascilitating fast breaks.

i like. if you use him right, bonzi can be a very good player. he loves to post up and go one on one, and he's an asset on defense (and the boards). basically he's good at everything where he can bang and be physical.

injuries, attitude and conditioning are problems, but who doesn't have problems in the 6th? still pretty crazy though

i would have liked him more in an inverted offense, because his jump shooting leaves a lot to be desired, and his post skills are somewhat redundant. him and maggette can bring the ****ing pain though

I was actually going to say something like this but I felt like I was piling on. Walker's career is what you'd have if you took a normal scrub player and went to him as if he were a star.

Like most have said, Bonzi is cool. I like the fact that he's pretty good at a lot of things.

Bonzi's a pretty good defender and rebounder. I think his biggest problem kind of hurts you, though. Your only real efficient players on O are Richmond and Maggette, and when one of them has to sit you're going to be playing 4 below shooters. Of course, that can be remedied, just putting it out there.

I still think 'toine is getting somewhat underrated for his all around game, but I'm coming around. I think he will still be useful for me (maybe 3rd or 4th off the bench), but I think I should have went in another direction for my primary reserve.

He did do a good job as a reserve for Miami in their championship year (career best TS% of .524), which appears to have been his last year @ his peak ability (and arguably he wasn't @ his peak anymore then either). Boston went from a 44 win team to a 36 win team after trading Antoine, so its not like getting rid of him was addition by subtraction.

Those are the last 2 arguments I'm going to make for Antoine. You guys have convinced me that I went too high for him w/ this pick.
