I never saw him play, but it looks like a fine pick and great fit with Ben Wallace.

nice pick with Gminski, he was in my top 5 available Cs for what seems like forever.

Thanks guys. I don't remember much about watching him play. His b-ref numbers look good though. And if I'm gonna have a white guy, might as well have a sick mullet.

nice pick with Gminski, he was my 5th best available C at the moment. he rates pretty good PER-wise as well

to be fair though, he never had another season anywhere close to 120 Ortg (next highest 111, career 109)

I don't think people realize how good Elliot really was. The downside is the injuries, but he was way better than the "ok" player people are suggesting. Dude was a very very complete player, without injuries could've easily been a 4th round pick.

Is anyone really saying anything bad about the Elliot pick? General consensus seems to be that it was a very good pick.

Not really too much negative about him, he's a great shooter. He did have some health issues and retired at 32 is about the only negatives I know of.

Seconded, and the emphasis is around the word complete. Plus the Memorial Day Miracle was one of the most clutch shots I've ever seen. FFS, the guy had to shoot from his tippy-toes!

BLJ was on 3 minutes after fanmail made his pick. I tried to PM him, but may have gotten to him late.

FWIW I have my write-up completed, so barring Fadi and BLJ taking my guy it shouldn't take too long to get my pick up.

it seems like this happens all the time. i dont know whether it's "oh **** it's my pick gotta go" or coincidence, but people not being ready tilts me.

the spirit of the lack of a time-rule (correct me if i'm wrong) was to accommodate for people not being able to get online due to work/sleep/whatever, not for people to be like "oh ****, its my pick i have a day or two to do some research".

i'm grumpy and that's my opinion, so take it for what it is

i also think that this is why 11th and 12th rounds would be bad, because it's already bogging down as we get late and more research is needed to figure out who to pick.

I don't have a definite pick but I have a pretty good idea even if the next 4 picks take all my top guys. But I won't be looking at any of this during the Finals obv.

also, Clark wtf get on your game and edit my round 5 recap into the Picks thread.

when Rondo was picked, I was like "Wtf, isnt Rondo like a younger/more raw Devin Harris?" then I waited to see when Harris was taken to make that comment. =O

Who starts?

fanmail,

I hate you, Gminski was my 7th round pick and I thought there was no way he'd get picked before then.

I feel like I should address the 'Toine thing, considering he's my (2nd) favorite player of all time. (A) No 4 pt'ers might be my favorite quote of all time. (B) The wiggle might be my favorite celebration move of all time. But as much as I love the guy, he's turrrrrrrible for this sort of league. He's the type of guy that has so much all around skill that he can carry a bad team (+ Paul Pierce), but chuckers like him aren't good in this league because there's so much efficient scoring to go around.

Just got back from playing basketball at the park...will try and have something up soon. Me being on just after fanmail picked was pure coincidence...I wasn't browsing SE or really 2p2 at all just happened to have it open. I've been quick with every pick.

Considering it's kidneys, and not a freak accident, the downside is obviously why he is NOT a 4th round pick. When you say something like "Player X would be amazing if he didn't get injured!" Well, "Player Y would be amazing if he could shoot and Player Z would be amazing if he was 5 inches taller!" It's like, obv.
