I saw him play in HS a bunch of times before he moved to north jersey his Junior year. But he is a HUGE reach here.

I'm sure GKA will explain in his writeup, but IMO one of the most important things you can have off the bench is instant offense. And he certainly got it here.

Instant offense off the bench is important, but its also less important in this draft because of the amount of guys who can score in the league.

Hes a great 3point shooter and athlete, but he has a ton of negatives to. This is the kinda guy who should go in the 8th, not the top of the 6th. Especially considering some of the SG's available.

I love the Joe Barry Carroll pick as he had a sick year at 24, despite other concerns.

If anyone wants to trade down, let me know as I'm looking to trade up.

OMG Josh C was my secret pick. He's not very publicized but has really good stats, I was pleasantly suprised. I thought he'd go much later though.

JR Smith is a ******ed pick. Hai guyz, he's a good fantasy player in his 20mpg, he must be worth taking here!

Childress not only has good stats, he's a really good basketball player.

Of the guys on his team he's hardly publicized. TS% of 599, this year 647, PER 16.2 for career this year 17.8 and he amazingly comes off the bench.

t0ne has resorted to drafting current or former Hawks players.

JR really isn't that bad, just not that great. He's not much better or worse than the Ellis pick in the 4th round e/c he has a bad attitude. They are similar scorers, and JR is pretty efficient.

Find me other players that can score 23 per 36 (or even 12.3 in 19.2) at a TS% of 60% and I'll be very impressed. Not to mention he does it in the Denver offense which is perhaps one of the ugliest offenses I've ever seen.

JR has hit 3s at like a 40% clip the last two seasons.

J.R. Smith 43 points off the bench

BTW JR was the "undrafted player" in my scoring per list.

He's ******ed (JR). Bad player on offense (offense is more than just shooting), terrible on D, killed a guy, bad locker room guy, I mean, what's to like? That he's good at HORSE? Meh.

I know there are a lot of guys who have better careers and are probally better but JR really isn't that bad, it's not like he's picking Candi Man this early or something (honestly if someone picks him they are ******ed).

At least the JR pick takes the spotlight off the Posey pick, which looks brilliant by comparison.

lol. I love the "bad locker room guy" card. He's on a team with Iverson (a guy who doesn't practice) and Carmelo Anthony (do I really need to put anything in parentheses?).

And to say he's "bad player on offense" is ludicrous. This is the prime example of underrating players who don't play within a system. Straight up, you put the ball in JR Smith's hands, and he's going to give you buckets with a great efficiency. You don't really need a system with a guy like that.

Sorry Clark, not all of us can take guys who shoot 13 times a game at a TS% under 50. We're not all as talented as you in that aspect.

Right. He's known as a bad locker room guy even though he's surrounded with those clowns. How bad is he? Byron Scott kicked him off the team, John Paxson didn't even want him around, and Karl keeps him on an uber short leash, as he has a bad rep on a team of bad reps. Yeah, he's great. Being able to make jumpshots doesn't make you a good player.

haha and Paxson is a genius right, look how good their locker room is now!!!!

When I think of JR Smith I honestly think he's very similar to Kobe. They're both insanely stubborn, yet seemingly capable of anything. The difference is that Kobe came into the league and got to play with the man of all men, Shaq, whereas JR Smith was forced to start on a ****ty new orleans team with a coach that he didn't get along with. Once Shaq left Kobe, Kobe never really got it together until this season. You take JR Smith off the Nuggets and put him in San Antonio, which might happen, and you'll see a VERY different player. You're underrating just how bad his situations have been.

Childress is on a short list of guys I hate for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
Seriously, **** Josh Childress.
