Clark, nobody is saying that TS% is more important than defense, rebounding, passing, etc. What people are saying is that when discussing the ability to score, TS% is a very effecitve measure. Now obviously we must take into account usage and/or PPG because its tougher to have a higher TS% when you're used more often.
Again, I'll relate this to my team in particular since I feel as if I'm one of the main "TS% guys"- I didn't just look at TS% at all. Rather, I built on the defensive end first, made sure my guys were solid all around, and also did heavily consider TS%.
