win shares above average HATES on him and I just can't figure out why, since he's a solid defender and has a great career PER. anyone know why??
The number of win shares (and loss shares) available to allocate depends entirely on the team's W-L record. Many of AI's teams had mediocre W-L records so there are less win shares for him to get and more loss shares for him to get than other superstars.

Kobe does have a chance to be better than Jordan, a slim chance, but still has a chance.

Their games are very similar, Jordan was just better at everything than kobe is, however kobe has been improving greatly every year, and has the same work ethic as jordan did so this is very possible. Kobe outside game is actually better than jordans, so if he does continue to make strides in the team game and defensively than there is no reason he cant be better than jordan. He already has 3 titles with Shaq, and can get 3 more titles easily without him.

Its not gonna make a difference that kobe had shaq to win 3 titles , because jordan had pippen.

Huge difference between Pippen and Shaq. It's much easier to win with a great big man. Jordan was always #1 on his teams, and he even took off years where they could have easily won more titles. Also who were Jordan's best big men? Rodman and Grant. Both good players but nowhere near as good as Shaq.

So, SammyKid11 is like 4 hours away from the 24 hour limit. What is going to happen?

Nothing happened last weekend when we waited. Also no penalty past the first round.

I wonder how much epip has hurt his own chances of being voted the best team by being so damn annoying about McHale.

This is just lol. Kobe improving greatly every year? His teammates got better, sure, so they're getting more use. There are plenty of reasons he won't be better than Jordan, and all of them have to do with Jordan being quite a bit better over his entire career.

Sorry about the wait, guys...out with friends last night and grilling out for the family tonight, so I haven't had a lot of time (and I needed to do a little research anyway). I'm going with Mike Bibby. I'll try to do a writeup later.

Team So Far:
PG - Mike Bibby
SG - Michael Finley
SF - Carmelo Anthony
PF -
C - Yao Ming

Hmm. I think I like the pick, because although Bibby is too much of a chucker I think he seems like the type that can change a bit within the system and having another really good 3 pt shooter will help free up a lot of room for Melo/Yao. Your defense is going to be mediocre at best but your offense is looking to be one of the better ones in the league.

I like Bibby. Dunno if you need another shooter, but he's close to the best pg around right now I think

I'm a Bibby fan in general, but the fact he's 29 and seems to be declining sharply already scares me.

I'm curious to see what Sammy's going to for his vacant PF spot b/c right now Yao's really got his work cut out for him guarding the rim. That starting five is gonna be waving dudes into the lane like a bunch of traffic cops.

If Kobe goes on to win 4 or more titles with this team I think you would have to at least consider arguments. And then come to the conclusion that Jordan is still better.

Bibby seems like great value

Kobe can't pass Jordon. Kobe could end up in the highest tier of the elite though depending on how the rest of his career plays out (like winning 2 or more titles).

yeah pretty much. I'll stare at my cup of coffee a second longer than normal before answering "Jordan".

was talking to JoA about Kobe in this playoffs though.. assuming he keeps it up in the Finals, this is a legendary modern era playoff run. Not close to some of Jordan's master pieces (seriously insane lines of like 34/7/6 on 50% shooting type ****), but the next tier down, along with some of Timmy's performances and even Bird's.

It's my opinion of course, which is basacally how we judge players, there are no absolute facts that say one player is better than another (assuming the players are close in talent).

Like if you asked who is better over their careers, Jason Kidd or Gary Payton, most of us would take Gary Payton but it's not like it's an absolute fact that Payton was better than Kidd.
