Take a look at Lebron's stats as a rookie and how much they improved though in his second year.

I'd guess assume that you get every player locked up long term.

I'm gonna be gone all day to the cape (gawd I'm such a new englander) and not gonna be able to check on this thread

Just wanted to say that after the 2nd and 3rd round when there were some VERY questionable picks, that so far this round has been pretty spectacular. Probably the best value picks of any round so far. WTG guys! Pat on the back! !! !

My team is only 3 deep but it's so sick at 24, seriously.

He turns the ball over rarely, at his peak was a 9 assist guy, and does everything my team needs him to do. He really was good at disturbing another teams offense, and was good at running the break, which I think my team will be able to do selectively given how many TOs are caused by Nance, Ewing and himself.

I don't think that he's way better than any of them and think that they are all really close in value, to the point of being irrelevant. I would've traded down again had I been more available, but I was on vacation and didn't have time to shop around and didn't want to slow everyone up.
Fair enough, I guess I can't really argue this too much. I just happen to think that the gap defensively between Mookie and DH isn't as big as you think, especially considering their height(and ability to guard other positions). And I think Harper's efficiency is significantly better ldo.

Mr. Jackie Christie

Fills in my 3 spot very nicely.

He's not a super offensive force (unnecessary) but can hit 3's (perfect) play in a fast paced offense (perfect) and lock down some defense (wow, this works out well).

While his scoring went down as he aged, his 3 pt % went up and his defensive rating went down. From ages 29-31 (the prime of my team) he put up Dratings of 99-101-98 while playing on the fastest, fastest and 4th fastest teams. 2nd team all defense 3 times, first team all defense once, 7 times in the top 5 in steals per game, and 17th all time in steals/game.

Team so far

PG - Steve Nash
SG - Manu Ginobili
SF - Doug Christie
PF - Anthony Mason
I like the pick a lot. Had my eye on him.

They were 4th in points scored per 100 possessions, so I have absolutely no clue what you mean when you say that they are one of the least efficient teams. Also while their traditional defensive stats aren't great, they do force their share of turnovers.

Wow he's not kidding. D-Rob was 24-12-4 (blocks) at 24 at a 60% TS. Porter was 14 and 10 (assists) with a 59% TS. And Aguirre was 29/6/4.5 at a 57% TS. Jeeeeeeeeeesus Shuttlesworth!@

was talking to my mom about this cuz I might take the folks to MV or Nantucket cuz I'm the only sap from my town who's never been. I grew up about an hour from the mouth of the cape (either bridge really).. we never went. In fact, I sorta hate the cape. RI beaches > Cape beaches. And too many tourists and too much traffic. yuck.

The downside is that I'm seeing guys with bad year 24s and nothing else and I'm like... "maybe someone else."

My roommate from last yr of college last year lives on the cape...he can't stand the tourists but they bring just a sick amount of money to the area.

really I think i've only been down there 6 or 7 times not counting a job interview and soccer games against Bourne which is barely the cape anyway. And 3 or 4 of those were when my best friend had a summer job down there. It was just easier for us to drive down to Newport RI which I like a lot more anyway.

At first look, theres 4 guys I want for my next pick and I'm reallly really unsure who to take...almost to the point that I'm hoping 3 of them get taken to make it easier on me.

My 2nd round pick I had it down to 4 guys: Laimbeer, Porter, Aguirre, and Mark Jackson. Didn't think Mark would fall so far, haha.

nopairparker has two great slashers and a solid center but what is he supposed to do when every team just clogs the middle on every possession?

sometimes i think we'd be better off without it but now that it's there if your team relies on nailing a bunch of 17 footers you're probably in trouble

If we did this draft over again I'd have a way better team, not that my team isn't great anyway

They don't have to rely on 17 footers, this isn't the Dallas Mavericks. The point is that they can both hit a 17 footer which means you can't sag off them, and both Wade and Monta can take it to the rack (not to mention that he still has a SF to draft and there are plenty of guys out there who can hit the 3 at a respectable enough rate).
