True, now that you look at that, I don't know if Durant is such a great fit. By the time he is hitting his prime, Kemp will have gained fifty pounds and have an alcohol problem, Sabonis will be on his last legs, and apparently Grant Hill has zero chance of not breaking his ankle, so he'll be sitting out four years. He'd probably fit better on a team built more for the long term.

I think my core already is enough to compete with any team. When all your guys are 34 and old, Durant will be 29 and will be ripping everyone apart.

Has any other team besides the Pistons had all 5 of their current starting lineup drafted?

Actually KD will be in his 4th or 5th year when he turns 24. Looking at it that way, it may be one the best picks taken. He will most likely need to have a "first round stud" to make up for the injuries or whatever, and KD is the only guy taken in the last couple rounds that has that chance.

A gamble, yes. But a pretty awesome pick the more that I think about it. Admittedly, I thought the other guy would have been better.. but now I'm convinced that KD is best for your squad, more than any other in this draft.

JRich: i think underrated on this board. i used to hate him with a passion, but he's pretty good (and decently efficient, nothing special). the fit might be a little odd, but who knows. not ridiculously durable, but not more injury prone than the rest of the people who jump high for a living.

Brent Barry: too early, imo. he's pretty efficient, plays above average defense, shoots well and can play both the guard positions. you state that he was good but never got playing time, but the only time he had more then 14 points per 36 minutes was his first few years in the league with the clippers. about the same durability as JRich in terms of jumper (read: ankle) injuries.

Kaman: I had him higher than Horford, Biedrins and Brown. He has some pretty good skills and I like the pick.

Durant: Was curious where he'd go, interesting fit to this team, imo (for the reasons Dudd posted). Not sure I like the fit in terms of your team's window.

In year one, what team competes with Grant Hill, Shawn Kemp and Arvydas Sabonis? I don't want to toot my own horn too much, but that's an unbelievable front line.

I think Miller is pretty clearly better than Kaman. Kaman clearly better than Horford. Biedrins is an interesting debate. Biedrins way more efficient but part of that is playing poop minutes.

btw lol @ Epip's point about the pick and roll being the only reason he's more efficient. Well sure, but part of that is because Biedrins is sick in the pnr because of his speed, hands, and finishing ability. Kaman is a big ******ed oaf that no pick and roll is going to solve.

Remember, Durant comes in this league as a 19 yr old, not 24 yr old, so even though he MAY turn into a TMac, for now he'd just KD. I think this pick is alright, but for straight up value, he leads a lot to be desired.

I have no idea how anyone who has watched them both play can say Biedrens»Kaman. That's just nuts imo.

Remember, Durant is a very good basketball player. He was playing with unmentionably bad people in Seattle this year and still put up numbers better than any 19 year old. Now you put him next to a great playmaker like Hill, a great passer like Sabonis, and a guy like Kemp who needs to be kept in check by multiple defenders, and I like what I see. (BTW, what I see is open looks for Durant and some easy dunks).

Oh and then I get him when he's studly at 24. Ahhhhh sweetness.

I've seen both play kind of a lot, and I don't even think it's close that Kaman>Biedrins. Are you thinking about the Kaman from this year? It could easily be because Brand was out, but Kaman looked money this whole year.

Kaman's mid-range jumper was pretty consistent, has a decent amount of post moves, and can finish near the hoop. I think his advantage in offense is way more than whatever gap there is on defense. Some say Biedrins is a good defender in a really bad system, i personally believe he has the tools, but isn't there yet.
