Darko you just probally need a pure shooter. You have 2 excellent defenders in Marion and Battier. Battier is a good 3 point shooter but I wouldn't call him a scorer by any means. Probally need a post defender later but there are still pure guys left.

I think it's a great pick. Low bulk, high efficieny O (Battier) has a lot more value than high bulk, low efficiency (Artest). I think he is a good fit here too.
I didn't love the Deron pick as much as the others did, but now I really like how this team is coming together.

Battier was one of the guys I was targeting, but I thought he'd last until the early fourth... I think he's underrated if you've got someone who can draw defenses inward, and obv. he's a sick defender.

hate the Battier pick. He wasn't even the 2nd best guy on the post-Yao Rockets...

I can think like a dozen great versatile/do-everything guys right now who are significantly better than him.

if there ever was a trade down spot, this was it imo. i could be proven wrong, but as others have said, i think there are defensive specialists on his level, only they do more, too.

i do love his defense, tho. people have fallen in love with defense right now.

I don't see how your team is going to score in a half court set honestly. Defensively very solid though. And is Marion playing the 4 or is Battier playing the 2? Don't like either of those.

Seriously which is hilarious because in this league every team will have at least 1 guy who can do things that are indefensible. On the other hand people are drafting guys that put up good numbers but can't do shi* when an elite defender is on him (Peja COUGH COUGH).

You don't see how a team of Deron and Marion are going to score in the half court? Eh? Deron/Marion/Battier are 3 of the most efficient guys in the league and you've got a pretty good defensive team going.

The team plays a little small and likes to run but there's no doubt they could score in a half court set.

All,

what's with all this defensive specialist bull****? Battier is a pretty terrible pick here. We're picking out of an almost 30 year period. You don't think you can find defensive studs later on down the line? You need to score son.

Re: Artest,

He's like literally crazy. It's awesome and a little unnerving at the same time. He just seems "off" at times.. in interviews, acting like he's hyped on the bench. It's hard to describe.

The battier pick pretty much guarantees I will get one of the players I wanted to get in my spot. Thank you for that. I will be looking to redeem myself from the bynum pick. Im still sure if I should go huckabee with my pick or ron paul. I have a couple of each type of players lined up.

I will be at commerce until about 5am pacific time, and will check the board if Im up by then I will make my pick, otherwise I will be asleep until about 4pm and will make my pick then.

For peole who like the Artest pick and hate Battier: do you think bulk inefficient scoring is better than limited but efficient scoring? Or do you think that Artest D >> Battier D?
