Do you know what ORtg is? Serious question btw.

Great defender, complete headcase, thinks he's way better on offense than he is. Like the fit though.

Aguirre's teams during his first 7.5 years (prime): 21st, 14th, 18th, 23rd, 12th, 14th, 20th, 24th (all with DAL)

this equated to 10-15 more possessions/game

kiki's team situation in DEN/POR was significantly different than Aguirre's team situation in DAL
Now that's a viable point. Not much that can be argued there.

He seems like insane value here...he just highlights the absurdity of some of the earlier picks

Interesting team. One great scorer, one awful scorer, one decent but very inefficient scorer. It's actually the precise type of team that I think will be very overrated in this. Really there's nothing right now that will stop a team from completely focusing on Reggie, and as great of a shooter as he is, he's not an elite creator. The defense is good, but its hard to see this team keeping up in scoring.

Yes some of the earlier picks were absurd but I think he went right about where he should have. He might have lasted a bit longer but going here makes sense given the developing makeup of that team.

meh.. I think this is about where he should go. He really is an offensive liability in many cases. He's not very efficient at all, and something the stats aren't telling you, he LOVES playing hero. He will walk up and launch a 3ball in a close game and not think twice.

My other doubt: it's mega-cliche which I hate but career losers tend to scare me. Not just "oh he failed in the playoffs" type weaksauce.. like always on pretty bad teams.

Other than that he's insanely awesome and he's a wicked fun guy to have on your team. I'm in Sac so I catch a good amount of the games and he's just highly entertaining.

Reggie and RonRon reunited!

edit: also agree it's a pretty good fit. When he's not playing hero he's an above average decision maker and passer and can make people pay for cheating off Rodman to Reggie.

Artest is not insane value because his offensive inefficiency is such a huge negative. And this does not seem like a good fit. The D will be great, but offense will be a problem. And the general rule with headcases is that you can have one on your team if you surround him with good citizens and strong leaders. Artest + Rodman on the same team is a recipe for disaster.

You can still get a big man scorer who doesn't play much D and can shoot and you can get a PG who can either create or shoot. Right now you'l have no problems defensively. Honestly there are still a lot of scorers some really good still available. Nobody is nearly as efficient as Reggie but noone in this league really is at SG/SF.

Career loser? He was on good teams in Indiana. He's not like some other players but he's not great either. I don't think he's the definition of career loser. If he doesn't do what he did in Detriot they could have won the East .

yeah he had a few good seasons in Indiana, until the 1 season where they were probably title favorites and he trainwrecked the whole thing.

Was talking about him with someone else and the brawl came up.. are we just going to ignore it?

Imagine being tasked with guarding Reg, and having to run through Rodman and Artest screens all game... Can you say zone?

I once guarded Artest in an AAU game (thinly veiled brag), he was quicker than ****.

IDK, I didn't watch him much in Indiana e/c the playoffs and even then not that much. But on the Kings he takes so many awkward shots. He's excellent manuvering in the paint but when he shoots I want to pull my hair out. As someone said he think's he's better offensively than he is by a mile, if he was a 4th best player on your team who didn't take a ton of shots he'd be a huge asset.
