I totally forgot about Jefferson. Wow. Good pick. Don't compare him to Bynum, though, it does you a disservice. Since he is young, there obv is some preditcting here, but with 4 seasons under his belt, steady improvement every year, and a full season @ 21/11 +50% FG, this is a good indicator of a productive career.

I'm liking this pick more by the second. Any injury concerns with Big Al?

I also like the increase in FT% every year, now @ 72%. Respectable.

50 percent shooting on 17.6 shots/game with Telfair, Jaric, and McCants getting most of the backcourt minutes is remarkable. Also was forced to play the center position, when he is a natural power forward.

His free throw shooting has improved every year since he's come into the league, up to 72.1 percent this year. Was also the second best offensive rebounder in the league, along with only averaging 2 turnovers per game despite a very high usage.

His defense has improved mightily as well, as he has upped his blocked shot numbers, and decreased his foul numbers as he matures. The scary thing is that he is still improving.

This was an excellent, excellent pick, as Big Al is possibly the best post scorer in the entire league.

Dislike the AlJef pick too.

Also Assani since u gave a bunch of sarcastic hearts, I am very interested in hearing who you think benefits more from this format than McHale does (that has already been drafted).

I can only think of possibly Grant Hill and that's it (but I don't really know much about his injury etc and it looks like a lot of people on here don't consider it a freak injury).

Clark,

How much of your dislike of Big Al stems from the fact that he used to be a Celtic? 90 percent? 99 percent?

I wanted to pick up Big Al but in the 3rd or 4th round. He's basically Boozer with less injury concern but also less of a track record. (no I'm not saying their games are identical so don't jump all over me epip)

Had some ankle and weight issues when he was young. I don't think either are a major concern.

GKA is right that he's improved on defense, but he's still really bad

he has improved drastically. he used to be amare stoudemire level bad, and i'd say he's better than boozer at this point defensively. he's just so quick and such a hard worker that he will at least end up an average front court defender.

Wow lots has happened since I last checked in.

Love the Mullins pick, love the Cummings pick. I'm with everyone who doesnt have a clue how Boozer and Dirk are gonna work together. Starbury is puke inducing. If anyone needs anymore proof that the guy is bat**** insane and inducive to a losing team, read "The Last Shot" by Darcy Frey (book that just followed four high school players, one turned out to be Starbury, great book.

Hate the Oneil pick, guy has injury problems, attitude problems and isnt THAT good on either end of the floor. I love Al Jefferson but think he's a reach and a half in this spot.

I dunno.. I need 2-3 more years of similar productivity to support this pick. This was his first full season. But I'm starting to warm up to it since Big Al is in my fave 5

i was about to list my fave five but then didn't want to get banned.

i should probably change my location quote too given that it's referencing a 23 year old player who has already put up a 20.9 PER on a 66 win team.

Laimbeer is a good pick. He's very awesome. However, I'm a little worried that both he and KG are both fond of 17 foot jumpers. I'm sure it'll work out, though.

Laimbeer is the next pick.

ROFL.

Yesterday I mentioned this earlier I sent Noze 5 guys to pick from and they all went so quickly.

Tim H
Mullin
Jermaine
Boozer
Al Jefferson

I also message Seadood this morning and asked him about Al Jefferson and what he thought. I thought he might be available next round. He isn't that efficient but he's a 20/10 guy at 22 and defensively he isn't bad but isn't great either. He has a ton of upside.

Im going to forgive a bit of a reach because of the full season of 20/10. Its really hard to do. I can only find 9 other guys (that havent been picked yet) that have done it even once. And I think all of them have some, if not a huge downside. With Al, you at least have promise. But that could be misleading.

D

PS I don't think this post is out of bounds, ppl should be looking for 20/10 guys anyway.

since it seems Big Al was highly touted, I think I like snatching him up and pairing him with Kobe. He's comparable to a worse Pau Gasol (a bit too much of a black hole for the triangle, which Pau is just killing in btw)

Bil Laimbeer was really gonna be the guy I was going to pair with Robinson, but oh well, gotta pick someone else now.
