PS: I actually have been thinkin this for a day now, but I think McHale benefits more from this format than any other player taken so far (in that, his injury was a freak one, he came off the bench for a ton of years prior to his peak so that hurt his production, and when he was finally in his prime, he got hurt and had he not, he would have been possibly the best PF of all time (although some still do consider him the greatest PF of all time, which is very remarkable considering longevity plays a huge part in those discussions.)
Do you think about KM all day? Are you his love child? Nobody cares anymore about your love for the guy. Okay to you epipen he's the greatest all time, we know that you have 150 posts sharing that. To us he's not and your not going to change most of our minds.

Also why are you obsessed with this guy. You barely saw him playing e/c on ESPNC and you hardly saw him live if ever? I've seen so many more games of players when I've gotten older than I haven't been obsessed about, i just don't get it. Do you have to do this to justify how good your team is?

I do think Robinson benefits 2nd most tho, it's close between him and McHale but for those reasons above I think McHale benefits more.

lol when did I say he was the greatest of all time? I'm just sick of the lack of respect he got in this format when he is better than Barkley/Malone/KG are.

Edit: Didn't see ur edit, but I'm not obssesed over him, it's just that a ton of you were underrating him, so it got formed into a long drawn out argument. McHale isn't even one of my top 5 favorite players ever.

I like Peja as a player, but I think he went a little too soon here, simply for the reason that I can think of a number of other players that will be available in Round 3 that can replace prob 90% of his production. He is an elite shooter, no doubt, giving you 40% from 3 and 90% from the line. But I think there at enough 37/82 guys that will fill the same void and give you equal rebounding/defense/assists.

Peja can't create his own shot. It's a huge issue. When he was truly a top player when Webber was out, he was literally feed by 2 of the greatest big men passers ever and he'd come off screens wide open. When he was a lesser fiddle he has trouble getting open b/c he can't create his own shot. I thought he'd be a 3rd/4th round guy. Also he's a huge liability defensively and in the playoffs he disappears. Yes this is a rant of a huge Kings fan who had to deal with this guy. I remember his MVP-type season me and my friend agreed he was better than Dirk, but then he fell off so badly it was sick.

Clark/Assani:

Can't we admit that this debate has run its course and is now just preventing useful discussion?

There have been a bunch of picks today, and we still have to listen to this.

GREAT pairing timmy and dwight. that team really will hate gays though, with the combination of tim and super christ.

i dont like tony parker WITH tmac, although i think he was the BPA. i knewo f a ton of guys that wanted him (through PM) and i thought that he COULD slip to the 3rd round. peja... hmm, not so sure about. great pure shooter but there are other guys like him. so funny there is a rush of shooters going now

It isn't on them, but if someone is continuously derailing the thread and basically trolling it with propaganda for his team then something should be said to stop it.

How much discussing of players is going on through PM between people? Why the hell can't we talk about players in the thread if a group of people are discussing/advising picks to each other in a format that not everyone gets to read?

I'd like to PM a couple of people to see what they thought about the people I'm deciding between, but I wouldn't because it just seems to defeat the purpose of having the draft.

Actually, we all underrate paul pierce. PP is closer to Kobe and Tmac than he is to someone like Mitch or Peja. (SG/SF guys recently picked)

I'm starving, so I need to go get lunch, but if I wasn't, the way I'd counter this is by looking at team assists/possession, and then looking at assists by players like Bowen and Finley (90% of which are going to be swinging the ball after a TP drive'n'kick).

The Spurs don't play an offensive system geared toward putting up big assist numbers at PG. How much you want to take that account is up to you, but I just listed some things I'd take a look at in considering it.

There was a great post by someone in my Sample Size thread that made the point that all of these stats we use only measure what was done, not necessarily the skill that went into doing it. Something to think about when discussing any player.

Yeah, he works with someone like (gasp) Webber. heh. kinda funny. that said Peja earlier on in his career could do more than shoot, he likely is the best pure shooter remaining and in the discussion for "best stroke of all time". he never was even an average defender which scares me (his kings and hornets teams have a guy or guys that enabled him to always take the easier assignment) and he's always played with an average to good passing PG. i think at this stage you could get better value, I don't know clyde enough to speculate on the pairing, but from what ive read and know its a weird matchup.

I would sorta be scared about having no front court to speak of at this point.
