I already liked the Nance pick, and then after reading Clark's summary of the pick, I like it even more.

Snap, Nance and Ewing! What a front line. Aside from maybe Robinson/Duncan, has there ever been a better C/PF combo assembled irl?

Even so, I think Shaq + Malone in '04 < Nance/Ewing in their primes, although its close.

As I pointed out.. I could have thought xxx was a good pick, albeit somewhat of a reach. Now you made your post and I need to search for yyy because it seems like an obvious pick and I don't want to look dumb or whatever.
I'm not understanding how that would change anything. Doesn't every drafter already look to find yyy before drafting? How would my comment change that?

Brad Daugherty.

Injuries are my big concern with Daugherty. You get him at 24. After 24 he played 41, 76, 73, 71, and 50 games before retiring. Otherwise, based upon stats I like the pick a lot. I don't know a lot about his defense though- can anyone chime in there?

Daugherty is a good pick at this point. The format we are considering for post draft competition is best of seven series at age 24, 28, and 32. Daugherty is in his prime for the first two of these.

There's injury prone, and then there's out of the league at 28. I'm not sure if Daugherty is good enough to make up for that.

If Daugherty just played a little longer / didnt have back problems, he prob would have went a lot earlier. He's not a spectacular player, but you cant argue with 20/10. The lack of blocks is troubling though.

Obviously he just got "on the clock" so I'm not trying to rush him at all, and it wouldn't even matter if Nicholasp27 isn't around to pick after him anyway, but.....

I offered a trade to Dr. Zoidberg via PM and he wrote back to me:

"If battschr takes Player X, I'll look to trade down. Otherwise I'm 99% taking Player X."

Battschr did not take Player X. So if Dr. Zoidberg isn't around for a while and Nicholasp27 shows up then what does everyone think? Should we give him Player X or just wait for him to pick? I would hate to pick for him and then find out he changed his mind, as that'd be totally unfair to him.

If there is multiple people waiting to pick, pick for him, but just to move up 2 people, I don't think it's fair to pick for him.

Daugherty's numbers during his prime (however short) were very good. The back thing is worrysome. His assist # and FT% were clearly above average (and shouldn't be ignored)
