This is why I don't always like defensive rating stats, as I will confess I don't watch many Spurs games, but isn't Manu guarding bench players/the non best sg/sf a ton (Bowen guards the elite ones, maybe even Finley does sometimes too? (Not sure on the Finley part)).

I'm not saying Manu's defense isn't good, but it def isn't close to as good as stats indicate, unless someone wants to prove me wrong.

Do you really think any player on the Spurs is a massive hole on defense?

I've hoping to get 'sheed all day, he was on my list (albeit not @ the top) from last round too.

Seriously, this pick is like 20-30 spots too late. You'd rather have Shawn Marion than Sheed? GMAFB!

Depends on what version of Rasheed you are getting. Since coming to Detroit, Rasheed went from being a high % inside guy to a pretty inefficient big guy who shoots from the outside too much. I don't know if that's a coaching thing or him just getting older or what. The D is great though...

Too bad Sheed's such a bad rebounder for his position. You'll get outrebounded constantly and the only thing you'll have to show for it is Sheed's average 3pt shooting.

Playing him at the 3 would be better imo.

Thank you cowboy2579. You win the draft. The amount of life-tilt I've been on for the last 3 or 4 days watching people pass over Sheed has been maddening...

I can't imagine the psychological damage a player would take from 48 minutes of Rasheed and Payton.

Sheed pick is very, very good.
He is one of the player who benefit the most from this format in my opinion. Give you solid post defense and scoring which his great at this point.

Earlier in the thread I was trying to trade with GKA or the late guys, and the two I wanted were Peirce and Nance. Nance would have been a great pick pretty much anywhere in round two.

Peirce + Nance = Awesome
Ewing + Nance = Better

Wow

Manu is awesome. Sheed is awesome.

I probably have the biggest man crush on Sheed and would have likely reached for him just for the SHEEED factor, but kbfc def overrates him. He'd be a stretch anywhere in the 20-30 range.

You're getting a little too Charles Barkley in your analysis.

omg he has GP and Sheed. I'm honestly considering giving cowboy money for his team. There aren't two players I like more in my NBA history and as a duo they're oh so nasty.

Seriously cowboy wins.

Bynum pick is possibly the worst pick of the draft so far

Nance is definitely underrated and good value for that spot...but Clark, did you really think someone would take him before you?

Ginobili pick is just LOL bad. Any idea how many players like him will be left in the 5th round?

Wallcae is pretty questionable too, again there are many power forwards left who were as good as or better than him.

We hear this **** about Manu all the time, usually the other way around (isn't Manu just schooling 2nd units).. wtf he plays 30 mins a night not 15. Plus his starter numbers are generally better, which is consistent with the data on most players.

this. except it would have also been good at 32 when marion was picked. or hell at 19 when clyde drexler was picked. numbers lie. ball don't lie.
