Ok well I'll be gone for 6 hours and not be able to trade so I fully expect the 2 guys I really want to be gone by then.

The fact like 10 of us wanted Nance scares me. You guys are going to make some good value picks. Nance was a sleeper, and I honestly (stupidly) thought I could get him in round 3 reverse snake.

In other news, this thread is at epic status.

I was pretty confident he wouldnt drop to me, but he was on my list of guys i would've snapped up in a second.

Bynum is easily the worst pick of the draft so far, comparable with Paul at 11.... Nance is a good pick, Clark is over dramatizing his pick, Nance definately isn't a SUPER steal here and most likely belongs in the second round, not a "no Brainer" in the first.... I agree with most of what you say being a fan of the old nba, but you need to take that golf tee out of your brain making comments like that.... Honestly, anyone on here that has ever heard of Nance knows him only as a slam dunk champion and nothing else. Good pick at a good time but stop buttering it up with garlic and sour cream.

Ant to sergz: Mutombo+ Anthony would have been so much better combo
I think people are seriously underestimating the monstrosity of gilbert's peak. Here is a list of all the draft-eligible guards who have had seasons with 29+ ppg and .580+ TS%:

Jordan (5 seasons)
Kobe (1 season)
Arenas (1 season)

As for the recent picks, Bynum is the reach of the draft (injury concerns, unproven production, etc), and Nance is the pick of the draft so far - sick, sick value.

Larry Nance! Already! Goddamn Clark!
I guess i must be stupid but after the last couple of picks I had the Feeling he might fall to me. Seeing the reactions, it was a little silly, but what an awesome Combo he would have made with James....
An Bynum+ Wade serioulsy? It's like the hill+ kemp combo, except you're not going to be good in the first few years

I like Nance a lot.. don't think he needed to trade up 10 picks to get him, though. Take advantage of us young'uns who are going to pick more recent dudes
he wasnt getting past me.

jesus, how many of us were holding our breath hoping for nance?

also, what do people think of clark's bigs? Ewing-Nance is a pretty daunting starting 5-4/

I will also confirm I had Nance very high on my short list of round 2 picks.

Thats going to be a tough team to score on in the paint. That's a good combo, Nance is kind of a midrange shooter and is quick, and Ewing is a back to the basket scorer. Tough to double with a big.

The best and the worst picks back to back.

Nance is just an insane value here, I mean, wow.

Should Bynum have even been picked in this draft? Let alone the 2nd round? I mean, only 35 games of good basketball and injury concerns. You're asking everyone to take a giant leap of faith that he is going to be good. Wow, just wow.

D

PS Wow.

I'd claim after the fact that I was going to take Nance too, but after picking Isiah I don't think anyone would believe me.

if NBA owners lost all their players this offseason and had to draft new teams from the available players (who you magically get at age 24), where do you think Bynum would go?

I'd bet first round.

Bynum wasn't even close to on my radar here. I know I've made like 4 posts laughing at this but it's just such a god awful pick and even worse pairing with Wade. Hopefully he snags Jay Williams to run the point.

Not if you get them all at 24, no.

Not sure about that. If age was a factor then yes though. He wouldn't go ahead of just about anyone who has gotten picked yet. The reason he would get picked so young is his age and upside not that he's that much better than everyone if they were 24.

Ya I didn't notice Clark said Nance shoulda been a first rounder, he def shouldn't, but he is def better than most players who were picked ahead of him in the 2nd round.

I think Deron Williams was the best value pick so far, followed by Nance or Pippen.
