Salad Days
Although I'm using it slightly incorrectly, I think, probably due to the Minor Threat song called Salad Days
Basically it's a term to refer to youthful times, hinting on the idealism we remember it for.
edit: Oh so Wiki kinda hints at the meaning I intended: "More modern use, especially in the United States, refers to a person's heyday when somebody was at the peak of his/her abilities—not necessarily in that person's youth."
So in the Minor Threat song, Ian MacKaye is singing about how he remembers how awesome the hardcore scene was when they got started, but now they're getting old and jaded, but also sort of acknowledging that they were blissfully ignorant in those days.
