Just dropping in to say what a sick pick Kemp was.

Liked the DWill pick, although I think there are still some A list PG's out there. Hated Rodman and Wallace - I think there are players left with similar defensive strength that dont give you zero on offense like these guys. Don't love Melo, but his PER is actually better than I would have guessed.

I'm going crazy on the multi-quote function now that I know how to use it, so hold on.

4. Barkley
5. Dwight
6. McHale

Also guys like Amare, Brand, Gasol, Bosh, and Rodman have arguments for being better. Some of them are injury prone or young, though.
In his peak, Kemp was as good as any of those guys IMO (except Timmy and KG.) As good as Dirk, Barkley and McHale IMO. D12 is a center, not sure why you listed him. Also, for my team, there's no way that any of those guys except Timmy and KG are better fits.

As did I. Then I realized there were much better options. Still he rounded out my top 5.

LOL. I offered Bobbo a list of 15 players, said "pick one of those and if another one of the guys available on my list of 15 is available at your pick, we'll make the switch." Deron was on that list. Also, that list was contingent upon Kemp not being there.

I thought a lot about the 'Melo/Yao pairing and I'm not sure I like it as much any more, precisely because of this. Melo needs iso's. When Yao is in the game, he's a better iso player than Melo. That's a lot of toe-stepping. Also, the defense is incredibly weak. With Yao, Melo will likely play the 3, and that's a lot to ask considering how weak he is as a player besides his scoring.

Considering DWill has AK shooting 50%, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Marion will have some really good production. Look for him to start moping though when people say "Deron is the best player on tdarko's team" and Marion is like "But guys!!! I was his first pick!!!!"

Also, this is important:

As far as injuries go, I consider someone like Paul or Deron to be as likely (and no more so) to get as injured as Hill or anyone else who suffered what I consider to be a freak injury. IMO people are still overrating the Hill injury. With today's medical advancements (think what would've happened to Amare had he suffered that injury a decade ago), I think Hill would've been fresh a year later. And if you don't think that injury hampered his career production, you're nuts. IMO I'm looking at a top player in the league for a solid decade.

Someone posted a scouting report of Hill coming out of college that listed him as injury prone.

The main point I have is that when you talk about Hill you act as if you are going to get all the best years and none of the worst.

Most people here would label him as injury prone. He may not get injured over 10 years, he may get injured in year three, who knows. Its still a risky pick.

I had no idea Anthony was so underrated on this board.
I mean somebody picked Gilbert Arenas five pick before him.
Think about it!
I hate the pairing with Ming though.
Ant to sergz: Mutombo+ Anthony would have been so much better combo

Yao + Ray Allen is an example of a sweet combo offensively, and that combo defensively is better then Yao + Melo. Yao + Paul Pierce. etc.

No seriously...where do I find how many posts people have in a thread. SERIOUSLY.

Also, I'm going to Georgetown for my cousins graduation this weekend so I'm not sure how my internet access is gonna be. I do have 2p2 on my cell though so at the very least I can prob get a pick in and add a writeup/pic later. Might just have my friend post it for me since I've narrowed it down to 3 guys.

He was on this morning. I was discussing trade with him (no luck, he said trading was too complicated). So hopefully he will be able to pick soon.

seems very unlikely I'll get to my pick before I head out for the weekend. It's even unlikely it reaches me by Saturday night. I'll be back on Sunday. I'm not sending out a long list of candidates if my pick is ~30 out when I'm leaving.

for the record, ben career wise over 22 games (decent sample) held shaq to 26/10.2/3 on 58.5% fg shooting and 8.4 fta per game. considering his career average over that stretch is 25.2/11.5/2.7 on 58% shooting and 10 fta per game, I think ben had very little defensive presence on shaq. this is no knock to him, obv, since he's a mega defender, but there just isnt ANYONE who matched up well on shaq.
Yao only averaged 14 and 10 vs Ben in 8 games vs 19 and 10 career avg. I dunno, like you say noboby can shut donw Shaq. Thats a great tool by the way.

wow.. didn't see Bynum going. I Bynum and think he's going to be a mega stud, but this is easily the "riskiest" pick of the draft.

wow Bynum was def not expectin him to go this early and LOL at not trading with Clark, you coulda easily gotten Bynum 10+ spots later and gotten extra draft picks.
