John Stockton played in 1504 NBA games. He missed 54 games. He played in 82 games 16 of 19 seasons.

Assani,

I answered virtually all of your stuff in that thread. You ignored my posts and trolled away with fruitless tangents. It was and is a waste of my time to continue that conversation further given your approach to these things.

fwiw you are the king of questioning someones opinions/making sly comments, then when they respond never responding back. (not saying you did this here, but you def did this like 5 times at least with me within a month).

No I don't. Notice that my percentage of him being better than Stockton was <50%. I would've taken Stockton. I also would've taken Barkley over him. I think its really close between him, Malone, and Ewing though. So I think he went maybe a few spots too high, which is in stark contrast to you thinking he was one of the worst picks of the first round.

think Clark is hating on Paul a little too hard. NBA players, by and large, follow very consistent career arcs. You rarely see huge drop offs and they're almost always due to injury. Given CP's size, style, previous injuries, and my mancrush on Stockton, I like Stockton over him, but he's definitely enticing to take top 15 somewhere. Guys like Hill and Wade are the exception, not the rule.

Yes and if his season was replayed again, do you think he has a 50 percent chance or greater to miss only 54 games or less again?

That's certainly possible with you. You and Assani have a lot of the same traits.

Im not even trying to hate on Paul, just defend Stockton's honor.

I think Paul is a lock top 20 pick, I do think he went a lil high. But everyone has their own opinion.

Chris Paul

Picking a guy like 5 spots too soon at #11 is a bigger mistake than taking a guy 15 spots too soon at #37 IMO.

The point is he has a track record of 19 seasons where he was incredibly durable. He is one of the least likely players in this draft to have injury problems hurt his career. This is a huge positive for him.

Worth noting that there are a ton of yet undrafted players mentioned in that thread that Assani linked.

Agreed(although you do add some quality insight too, so I'm not bashing you as a poster).

With the argument I linked to you never ever gave any good responses. The stats totally contradicted everything you said. It was especially funny to me when you saw the stats and then claimed "well yeah but Jordan did things like teah chemistry better after that year and that doesn't show up in the stats" and then I pointed out that Jordan's assists were higher that year than the next. YOu hid behind non measurable excuses like "I saw those games and know what I'm talking about while you were too young" or "team chemistry" and ignored every statistical measure I threw at you.

Agreed on the least likley, but would u agree that he is still an underdog to play as many games as he originally did.

Meh, Isiah went at least 10 spots too high, IMO.

So in case anyone didn't care enough to read it, make sure you go and read it now so that HSP can feel important and continue to display his incredible skills at making people dislike him as a poster.

I'd rather have Billups in this format than Isiah.

No its not worth noting. I linked to the NBA regular season thread...of course a ton of players are mentioned in there. Thats a lot different than commenting on who you think will be going soon or who is better than the guy who was just drafted and giving obvious hints about who you think it is.

edited to add: I don't really care if someone brings up a player's name. Notice that I didn't say anything to EPipen when he mentioned Juan Dixon. I just care when you mention a player and then mention that they "should be going soon" or "could've gone instead of this player" even if you don't directly name them. Seriously, just obey the rules and stop trying to be immature with this "Oh well you did it too" crap.

But it really doesn't matter if he plays as much games. If you play it out 10 times you will get 10 different results. What matters is he is very unlikely to have his career hampered by injuries.

obv I agree with this, I just stated that he was an underdog to play as many games as he did, and that he can suffer a freak injury.

It looks like you agree with what I said above, which leads me to believe you misread my original post.
