PM the next guy.

Deke is clearly the best player available in my mind. Great great pick.

There's nothing wrong with the Mutombo pick. Probally the best shot blocker picked and a great rebounder as well. Offensively he was never really that strong but you can definitely build around the guy. His PER is decent but his DWS is pretty high and his DRating is also pretty high. Centers are obviously pretty valuable b/c of the lack of real depth of good centers in this era.

4 time DPOY as well. 3 time all-nba player. Really a good pick imo. I'd take him over a lot of the picks just taken.

I think PER is pretty brutal on SGs and SFs (i.e. it underrates them), with the rare Kobe/Lebron/Jordan super high volume dominate the ball types being the exception.

19/20 PER for a guy who doesn't do much other than shoot is pretty good. His rebounding/assist numbers are pretty mediocre in comparison to most of the guys already taken. He was a pure shooter.

My point is SG and SF in general are undervalued. PER has a ton of flaws obviously, this is just one of them. More of a general comment, not really a Reggie comment. Reggie went about where he should've.

The next guy picking is called SharkAC, apparently no such user exists on 2+2?

Also Mutombo was a great pick like others have said.

Um, there isn't a sharkAC or even something similar that posted in any of the 3 threads. ANyone konw what happened. There is a shark doctor who got first pick but I can't find a SharkAC

He was the guy I was trying to choose between. I had told Jack I was going to take either Deke or Zo, whoever fell to me at #32. Deke is a great pick, the C position is getting thin.

Love Deke..

The most telling stat are his /36 numbers. Mutombo went through a period where people thought he was washed up, but his production on a per-minute basis never really showed that. He's not going to help you much offensively, but he won't hurt you either.

Im glad you told jack this. Is he your confidant?

...

Deke is a good pick, I told Clark via pm that I didn't think Deke should get drafted this highly and then I told GKA via phone that I thought a #1 scoring option should go next and then I told Assani Fisher via pm that he needs to be more assertive in pm then I told Tuq via PM about some sick sleepers then I spoke with LApoker via AIM about some certain players who will go next but are being discussed on the boards and then I got around to PMing again and sent one to KC about....

ok, overdone and not funny.

anyway, good pick. I thought he'd slip more because he can't be more then a 3rd banana offensively.

Yeah, I think SharkAC was an error on my part. So that makes the list 40 and not 41. If we want to make it 41 again, I have no clue who is next up.

AC Cobra, you are up

Yes I think we should just skip this "SharkAC" and eliminate him from the draft since no user exists, that way we can have this draft at an easy 40 anyway.

I think AC-Cobra should pick, it will speed this thing up since hes browsing now anyway.

Bobbo- what does it matter? He offered no advice and the couple of players I mentioned will have been long gone by the time he picks again. You not sleep well last night bobbo?

Yeah, but he's among the top 5 defensively in the entire draft, and isn't a zero on offense. D is so important here and he's a dominant game changer in that regard.

i understand - im not arguing the pick. really fine selection imo. again, just felt on a personal level he'd go 10 picks down or so, but when looking into it further, can't blame this at all.

Someone should also PM BigCat who is picking after AC-Cobra, because it doesn't look like he is very active on 2+2 yet he just posted a few hours ago, so hopefully we can catch him before he goes off on a 2-3 day 2+2 free vacation, I would do it but I gotta run

Wow, Ive got a tough one on my hands here. Dont worry, wont be delaying massively or anything. Just gonna take a short while to make my final decision.

Guess I don't really have to defend my pick after all. My main reason for going Deke here was position scarcity, durability/longevity, the fact that he can fit pretty much any kind of team, and my belief that offensive efficiency is more important than bulk as long as there are some bulk guys who can be picked later on.

I really can't wait for Round 2, teams will start to take shape - should be some interesting selections, and who knows, maybe a trade!

He's been clearly the BPA since Iverson came off the board IMO.
