great player, but colin is right. his most injury prone time aligns pretty well with his prime years. still a stud though.

It seems like everyone's running for the big men, so others might slip and be of value.

No suprise Nique went next although I think I might have taken big nose over him. Big nose I don't think can be a great #1 on a team though.

The Zo pick is a very interesting one. Because of the injuries/kidney problems, he's not really remembered as well as some other players, but as kc said, he was nastay when he was on the Hornets. But even with the injuries, he remained a defensive force late into his career. If Nicholas can surround him with scorers and other good permiter defenders, he could have a very interesting team.

Read the draft order again. Malone went 12th, Barkley 13th.

i figured there are a ton of awesome talented guards/forwards but less centers...i almost went nique (especially as a hawks fan), but decided to get my center in round 1

Nique, the first pick I really don't like.

I just don't think he translates well to this format/modern game. Bad 3 pt. shooter, average shooter in general, rebounding #s are adequate for the position, but nothing in the way of assists. Not a spectacular defender and inflated scoring numbers. He's a ball stopper, too. Honestly, I would rather have Vince Carter because he's a better passer and can shoot the 3.

I think he would have been a nice 2nd round choice, but as the primary option, no.

With 41 teams theres no way he would survive that long. Can you list 41 better players in that era. I doubt it.

Zo and Nique are both solid picks.

Solid, but I also think that there's a number of similar players that could replace Nique whereas some guys still on the board (and sure to be chosen in the next 3 or so picks) are pretty unique and just as worthy of being a pick here. Love the Zo pick, guy is monstrous.

I dont like the Nique pick...so many other pllayers that easily couldve been taken over hm that had much better value.

Its funny that we just finihsed mentioning Zo and Nique right before they got picked (again).

can someone explain why Nicholasp said "which shouldn't be a concern in this league" regarding Zo's kidneys? is the injury a "fluke injury"?

What? Barkley is CLEARLY better than Malone. Fact. Has the edge in threes and speed, all Malone has is better defence. Malone's overrated because he plays alongside Stockton, whereas Barkley has to make do with Kevin Johnson. Then again, why you're all discussing that when Pippen is still available is beyond me.

But in the OP, it says that injuries that someone has does not have to happen, i.e. Kidd had a serious knee injury but for the sake of this, he has injury issues but it doesnt not have to happen.

So players like McDyess, Webber, Kidd, Houston, who had serious knee injuries, of which 3 were pretty hampered post injury that they wouldn't have the issue but would be prone to injury.

Given the run of big men I wonder when assanni's favorite player will get picked. I thought he'd slip to late 2nd round for insane value but I could be wrong.

I think I like this pick. Zo was sickkkkk until the kidneys. However, he had injury concerns pre-kidneys. Never played 80 games. A stretch of 70, 66, and 58 right in his prime (almost got fooled by his 49 games in the next season, but that was the strike shortened season).

Still, dude was a beast.
No chance, I was taking him @ #32 if he fell that far.

Do people really think Zo has more value then Yao? Zo I thought (as colin thought) would slip to 2nd round and someone would make a steal. but again, I just think there are better current Cs to build around still available.

BTW, have we settled the snake debate? IMO simply having Michael Jordan on your team is justification for a super snake or whatever it was called.
