Officially the first true stretch pick.

I know - I guess it wouldve looked better if I had a late round pick and drafted him there...but I know who I wanted - and got him. Every single one of my players I had on my list got grabbed - and there were no solid big men that I would consider to be on that next level Elite level...so I decided to go small and went for point.

I honestly couldnt see anyone better than CP3 at PG...not Stockton, Isiah or the Glove. This one year hes had is just a lil sampling of whats to come - hes so young...yet has put up a year thats only comparable to Magic (that I can recall).

I can grab a very good SG and SF later on in the draft...Ive got some good Centers in my mind that will be around for the second round - but I felt I had to go with a point guard - and the best player available in the draft.

People should not underestimate CP3...this one season was "Magic"...but it wasnt a fluke! and he will only get better.

Major props to you for taking Paul, when I said I was going way off the board if my guy was taken, this is who I had in mind, did not expect at all that somebody else would take him. Led the league in assists and steals per game as a 22-year-old, torched Kidd and Parker in the playoffs, he's definitely on course to be a elite PG for a long, long time. If he'd fallen to me I ws going to pimp him like he was god's gift to man kind, eg: "Chris ****ing Paul, the best #3 draft pick EVER, yes EVER", etc.

2) If he was 3 you'd rate him higher than Hakeem???

Chris Paul is a do everything machine. It may be a "reach" to some, but the guy is as good of a PG as anyone ever was at age 22, so why not CP3?

Really interesting pick with CP3 there. Was one of the few players who I was really unsure of where they'd go. Don't hate the pick though at all. I think its one of those picks that everyone is scared to make because of how little we know about his career, but when pressed to actually evaluate the pick compared to other potential picks there they'll realize that it was a solid one.

I think it's because there's simply more top flight guards than big men. Plus you could end up with a team like the Warriors with no bigs.

I think this is an excellent pick. I'd be interested in hearing from those who don't. Do you think his numbers will decline from this season? The playoffs certainly seem to indicate otherwise. If not, how is this a reach at all?

i think it has more to do w/a desire to have a presence in the paint particularly on defense as guards can only do so much.

That may be, but the guy said he didn't like the big men left at this point enough to not take his BPA. I love the pick. Of course the argument can be made that certain elite big men could be taken before guards, but CP3 is a franchise starter.

I don't want to name undrafted players, but I can't say this without you all knowing that I'm talking about Dwight Howard so.....

Earlier this season we had a discussion of where all current NBA playes would go if you redrafted them and I was perhaps the only one who had CP3 at #2. Does this mean that everyone agrees with me now?

I am CP3 fanboi and understand his greatness. But w/o knowing what his greatness will actually be--realizing that these picks are based on factors that we can't determine yes (injuries, peaks etc.), how can you justify this pick over Stockton?
