he didn't lead the league in scoring his rookie year (3rd), but your point is right anyway

Damn u JackofArcades....I knew Hakeem was going to get pcked up before my 11th overall selection - but dammit! - I was hoping D-Rob would still be around...now Ive got a lot of thinking to do. Ive got 2-3 guys im thinking about now - but none of them are auto-picks like D-Rob was going to be. I hate the 11th pick...I would rather have the last pick in this draft than have the 11th (or even something in the middle). Oh well - time to cross my fingers and hope Alex or Seadood dont take any one of my guys.

I assume we can make trades of draft picks? If so I am looking to move up to the next spot or two.

He lead the league in points, just not ppg. Bernard King (leader) played only 55 games. Larry Bird played 2 less games but scored half a point more per game.

jesus bird is a massive spew at #5. there are so many players currently in the league that i'd take over bird in a heartbeat. vs. the competition he was playing sure bird was the man, but now he'd struggle big time. don't see this opinion being controversial either, really.

the gap in athleticism between then and now is greatly overhyped. You're all being racist.

He played against half the guys who have been picked already. Give me a break.

I read an interesting McHale quote one time that said the first time he took a shower w/ Bird he realized he was black where it counts.

but seriously this is tilting me so hard. Would Dominique struggle in today's league? Would Jordan? Would Barkley? Would Isiah? Would Olajuwon? Would Magic? Would Worthy? Dantley? English? Gervin? Gilmore? Moses? MOSES?!

So those uber-athletic guys that Bird went head2head with (and often dominated) would fare OK, but 3-time MVP white-boy couldn't hack it? pleez.

Bird would be fine in the league right now. He can shoot the lights out, is a fierce competitor, a great leader, is clutch, is a better defender than given credit for (crafty) and just knows how to play the game and is always in the right spot.

Just my opinion. I happen to think that it's possible that people will look at Jordan's scoring totals by age 24 and still pick Lebron before Jordan, purely because of Lebron's potential. Yes, Jordan had 37 ppg. Had his 63 point "God" game. It's a lot closer than I made out in my post. But I still think it's arguable to pick one over the other.

Do you think Jordan would be first or Shaq?

I think the question is - whats more valuable in a draft like this?....Potential or actual proven results. Its a tough argument tp make either way.

The kids these days are really just out to disrespect the elders. Saying that one could even consider taking LBJ over Jordan should be a bannable offense.
