The rumor going around during 112 was if Anderson won he was going to fight GSP at 170, then Anderson did what he did and pissed Dana off so much that he doesn't want to let Anderson fight in the 2nd biggest fight in MMA.

ugh, my brain must still be asleep since I can't immediately think about what the absolute number one fight was?

Did any info get out already what happened to BJ or was he just without energy bc of the humidity or something? Figured he couldn't have been 100% at least.

I read that he had a sinus infection. Which would not only drain his energy, it would make it really hard to breath out of his nose.

I'm assuming #1 would be Lesnar-Fedor. I'd also love to see Anderson-Machida but that will never happen (friends).

Brock-Fedor would be the biggest fight ever AINEC.

IMO, Brock needs to beat Carwin to come closer to the level Silva/GSP have to make Fedor-Brock bigger. GSP and Silva are both ranked so highly on the Pound for Pound list, don't feel that Brock is 'up there' just yet (And I root for Lesnar btw).

I misunderstood and thought he meant a fight from the past that actually happened.

Fedor is the "best HW" and Lesnar is also a huge draw and arguably very close theoretically to Fedor if healthy and would bring a serious size advantage. Silva is the best fighter or one of the top 2 but he doesn't draw that well. Not sure how Fedor really pulls in the US, but it would still be a huge fight. Obviously the only "fight" that would be bigger in the US IMO would be Mayweather-Packy--but that obviously is never going to happen.

Don't get me wrong, he's not at a Silva/GSP level. I mean just in terms of tv/hype/public interest.

thanks for the info, if it dont happen then i look like it will be gsp vs fitch and silva vs belfort...imo tho they should try and attract shinya aoki!

Brock has proven to be the biggest PPV draw in MMA. Is he the greatest fighter in the world, probably not, that's just not possible with just 5 career fights and a 1 year layoff. But I'm convinced a Brock/Fedor fight would get 2 million PPV buys, while I think Silva/GSP would get 1.5 or so.

As far as boxing I think the Mayweather/Mosley fight is going to do huge #s, unlike Pacquiao's last fight this is expect to be a competitive fight. Nobody thought Clottey had a chance there will be many people picking Mosley to win.

oh yeah sure, I totally agree with you guys if you look at it that way.

And at least I hope this is the last time we will see Silva fighting anyone that is a walkover for him, let him fight Belfort (but meh, if he puts in 100% Belfort is not a big challenge imo) and then give him one of the dozen interesting LHW/HW fights +gsp. He's not getting any younger too. (I pbb repeated a bunch of people here though)

+ a million

**** this "Silva doesn't deserve the GSP fight" stuff....Dana, if you really care about the fans, then you'd stop matching him up with subpar fighters who don't stand a chance.

Silva is still not that big of a draw. Lesnar is a HUGE draw. That's the difference between the two fights, although GSP vs Silva would be filled with more talent.

Lesnar is the biggest draw by far, but if either he or Fedor loses that fight will certainly lose some steam. That said, if Lesnar beats Carwin+Cain and Fedor beats Werdum+Overeem I think it would pull far more than 2 million buys.

Kinda funny, but sad that somebody went to the trouble. Must have been a sherdogger:

Apparently BJ will be getting an immediate rematch http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/Edg...mer-Fall-23856.

I hate this to be honest. I think BJ should have to win 1 fight (vs. Grey Maynard) and Edgar should get to defend his belt against Kenny Florian. Just so we get to see 2 fights from high level fighters that we haven't seen yet.

did anyone see the Sport Science show yesterday? It was a re-run, but had Houston Alexander on it, and they were measuring his punching power when he's normal, with natural adrenaline, and with a dose of epinephrine. For the natural adrenaline they just got his trainer to stand there and yell at him, it was so awkward/stupid, then afterwards it looked like Houston was about to cry.

Yep. I think pokeriseasy summed it up really well above with this. My thoughts exactly. Not to knock BJ it was a close fight so I can understand a rematch but I don't know I want to see the 2 fight someone else in between.

Penn is a douche so he should have to fight someone tough before he gets a rematch. That's my opinion.
