Back in 2013 Jon's brother Arthur stated that Jon makes more than his 2 brothers combined. They were each making around $2 million a year in the NFL. Jon had 3 championship fights in 2011, 2 in 2012, and 2 in 2013.
Back then Dana White stated that only one fighter had ever had a $5 million payday. He specifically said that it was an active fighter and it wasn't Jon Jones or Brock Lesnar. This pretty much narrows it down to Georges St. Pierre, most likely for UFC 158 (vs Nick Diaz) which did 950k ppv buys with not much other star power on the card (or possibly UFC 129 vs Shields due to the ridiculously high gate).
Jones has definitely become a bigger PPV draw than he was. He sold 650k ppv buys vs Anthony Smith, who is a relative nobody compared to most of the fighters Jones has faced over the years. It was a good card, and the WW championship (Woodley vs Usman) was the co-main but still back in the day when he fought relative no names like Texeira, St Preux, or Gustafsson I, Jones would only do 300 to 350k ppv buys.
Pay across the board has gone up because the UFC has more revenue streams so while 650k us ppv buys couldn't get anyone a $5 million payday back in the day perhaps it can now when you consider additional revenue is coming in from ESPN as well as from international PPVs (not to mention PPVs being more expensive).
Dana White said Khabib's net worth is probably in the $50 million range. Khabib has only had 3 potential money fights in his entire career. First he faced Al Iaquinta for the title (just 350k ppv buys) then faced McGregor (obviously his biggest payday) and then fought Poirier. It makes sense that he would have gotten an 8 figure payday for each of his last 2 fights.
