Cain stayed out of MMA too long. Sucks.

You guys are overrating Ngannou. He still needs some time before challenging again. And there's a bit of a logjam at the top with DC/Stipe/JBJ/Brock/etc.

Give him Volkov or something while DC figures out what to do.

I don’t know if ufc would do it but id love for them to run back ngannou vs lewis and wipe the first fight from my memory.

I'd rather staple my balls to a tree than watch another Ngannou-Lewis knock

I havent been more let down by a fight in recent memory than that one and I want that rectified.

Looks like they are going with Gastelum vs Stylebender @ UFC 236 for interim title. Probably the right decision rather with Whittaker healed up to face the winner later in the year.

They should've just stripped Whittaker & gave him the first crack at the title when he's healthy. Interim titles are meaningless as they've stripped Colby & Ferguson very quickly once they got it.

Adesanya/Gastelum for interim belt at 236

Adesanya opens -205 on BM

I would not mind watching that fight. Adesanya is overrated until he proves himself imo

Seems like a terrible matchup for Gastelum. I can't imagine Gastelum outstriking him although I suppose its possible. It seems Israel will just pick him apart with a massive reach advantage. Kelvin has never shown dominant wrestling in the UFC. He only has more than 1 takedown in 2 fights. He took Uriah Hall down 3 times (Uriah took him down twice). He took Neil Magny down twice while Neil took him down 6 times.

Israel just dusted Brunson who has shown to be a better wrestler than Gastelum.

Of course Kelvin could catch him but that seems unlikely. He knocked out Bisping when Bisping overextended himself which shouldn't happen with Israel due to his reach. He knocked out Vitor too but I question Vitor's chin late in his career.

Feel bad for Tony here but cant say that isnt a fight i want to see.

Kinda weird going with 2 interim title fights on the same card

Stupid booking, why isn't Max defending the 145 title? The 145lb division is one of the most stacked divisions in the UFC, fighting for an interim title makes no sense. They should've offered Ferguson a title shot vs MAX for the 145 pound title, he did say in the past that he would move down.

Btw, if Tony retires i may just boycott the UFC.

My initial reaction is this is a stupid title fight. I'm very happy with Holloway going to 155lbs but it should be either a super fight or an unimportant tune-up fight...not an unimportant fight for a title (fake or otherwise).

Although, it seems Khabib and Tony are first to blame for this. There should be no interim title whatsoever. Khabib should have done the PSA and then gotten a big fight in the first half of 2019 and he could have given his suspended buddies a huge percentage of his pay.

Also, did Conor turn down an interim-title fight too? Dana has been making claims that everything is based on the rankings like a legitimate sport. Conor is the #2 contender. Should he not be fighting for the title if Tony turned it down?

Dana White is a piece of crap. He only cares about $ & allows his divas to do whatever they want while he screws the rest of the fighters in the process.

If Khabib is refusing to fight until November then just strip his ass & do Conor vs Tony for the title at this point & even that makes no sense considering Holloway legit will hold up the 145 pound division if he wins or better yet when he beats Poirier.

The one thing I find strange is this is the type of fight they make when they are struggling to find a main event for a PPV so they throw 2 guys into an interim title fight. They already have a main event for this card so I wonder if this is like what happened with Colby where Dana said he refused a fight so they just moved on to Woodley vs Usman.

Maybe they offered the interim fight vs Max to Tony and he said he would only fight for the real belt after what happened to him last time as interim champ and when he refused the fight they just moved on to Poirier.

Even though i think its the wrong fight to make. It still should be a good fight. I felt Poirier was in line for a title shot last summer but obviously fell back in a line a bit when Tony and Conor came back, so i dont hate him getting a shot.

That's basically what happened. They lowballed Tony according to him.

Really hope Dodson gets starched here by Yan

Would have been a better co main than lol Struve

Edit- hmm rooting for yan surprised he is such a solid favorite though around -250 bet down from -300 opening looks like. Thought it would be closer

Struve is a punchline (literally I guess) but that was a touching post-fight interview. Makes good sense to retire on a W now, considering his heart condition, so I hope he sticks with that.

I'm probably happier than I should be at the fact that it took Dana all of two years and one Conor to go from "look what money and corruption has done to boxing, in the UFC the best fights the best" to "**** it, everyone gets a belt and nothing matters".

They control every aspect of the fighters, rankings, and matchmaking and still manage to cock this up. Amazing.

I think Joe Silva played a huge role in keeping the old UFC the way it was.
