he landed like a million punches without giving him a scratch (from what I remember at least...)

I had the impression his punches were really weak until nogueira/lesnar because of that fight

bruises/scratches are hard to see on super dark skinned people, obv.

Looking at the comments here:

Dimewars highlight video and Comments

I'm evidently not the only one who sees the foot landing to the nuts along with the knee to the midsection.

can you even land your foot there after connecting with the knee without going completely out of balance?

seems like there would be no power in the foot if he did

Good question. idk. Really need a slomo closeup. If you just keep your eye on the foot it looks like the foot-to-nuts is what's landing. But if you just keep your eye on the knee it looks like the knee is landing. There's even a question as to exactly where the knee lands - midsection, chest, or possibly chin. A comment was made that if the foot-to-nuts landed Lesnar would have keeled over grabbing his nuts - which he doesn't do. On the other hand he was getting hit again so fast mabe he didn't have a chance to.

I assume if Lesnar had complained about it post fight we would have heard. Would Lesnar fail to complain if it happened? Maybe. I don't know. It sure looks to me like the foot-to-nuts lands though.

Massive announcement:

The UFC announced they will be folding the WEC into the UFC. The 135 and 145 pound divisions are coming to the UFC, with the current champions becoming UFC Champions. Jose Aldo, Urijah Faber, Cruz, Bowles, Benavidez, Bendo, etc all in the UFC starting in January of 2011.

and 125 just went from a "don't order" to a "can't miss" PPV for me. That easy.

This is really awesome news for everybody involved. Some details:

Supposedly nobody is losing their jobs. The entire 135 and 145 classes are being absorbed, but supposedly so is the whole 155 pound weight class.

The WEC staff, including GM Reed Harris and matchmaker Sean Shelby will now work for the UFC. Even the ring girls will move over.

Ben Henderson vs Anthony Pettis will be the last WEC-branded show in december and the last WEC title fight. The winner of that 155 pound title fight will automatically fight the winner of Edgar/Maynard.

UFC will do four shows on VS in 2011, decreasing the amount of Zuffa shows VS will have (they would have had more WECs than that) but increasing their ratings.

Cage size will not change to accommodate smaller fighters

Jose Aldo was offered a fight at 155 with Kenny Florian, but chose not to take it. Smart move imo, it's better to just have a couple title defenses as UFC champ then make that move.

Speculations:

Faber/Torres as TUF coaches for the next season is already rumored to be set up.

The UFC is supposedly preparing to raid the Japanese orgs for their best lighter weight fighters.

also, Gonzaga got released today. It sounds like he may just retire from MMA and concentrate on BJJ

@DO.

a couple of things.

1st, how hot are the WEC ring girls?

2nd, What is VS? (if this is a US tv channel ignore this)

3rd, does this mean there will be 1 or more shows each month?

extremely hot

VS is a us tv network

Dana has said they are "maxed out" on PPV shows. This likely means that there won't be more a lot more PPVs, but perhaps more free shows. Imo, they will have about the same amount of cards but the cards will just be more stacked. For instance, the weak-looking UFC 125 with Maynard v Edgar, Roy Nelson v ???? (Carwin pulled out) is now a must order because it also includes Jose Aldo's first UFC title defense.

The first one probably. honestly, not that many people still watch every season of TUF. The 10th was decent as well. But there just isn't as much talent coming through TUF as there used to be.

Close fight but I don't see how Machida can be winning when he is running the entire fight.
