Mackenzie Dern missed weight by 7 pounds, damn that is yoloing it

Only fight on the card I'm looking forward to seeing is Jacare/Gastelum

I hope Dern gets knocked out & either takes mma seriously or quits, disrespectful to the sport.

Dern's fight should be cancelled. Missing weight by that much is dangerous to her opponent.

Pennington corner is disgusting, when your fighter says they're done they're done.

Nice win for Gastelum, I thought Jacare would be able to control him similar to how Weidman did. Still don't think he can compete for the title at 185 though but not sure who else is in line at 185. Jacare lost, Rockhold to 205, Gegard to Bellator, division cleared up fast.

Weidman should probably get the winner of Yoel/Whittaker over him.

Nunes/Cyborg seems like a no brainer, probably the only WMMA fight that could get people interested right now

This, will be fireworks & i have Nunes winning, she's good everywhere & would be the most high level wmma fight ever booked.

Generally Pennington tends to make other fighters look good because she’s so slow but Nunez looked like she’s upgraded her striking quite a bit after the stun gun fight. Her cardio also looked miles better than it’s ever looked and lack of cardio was probably the night number one knock against her.

Those cornermen should be at minimum fined for that. She said she was done and clearly was done. She took a solid 5-6 knees square to the head in the last couple of minutes of the 4th, had a huge gash on her forehead and didn't appear to land a significant strike in that round. I don't think I can recall seeing a fighter being sent after telling their corner that they didn't want to go back out. Definitely hasn't happened in any matches I've seen, boxing or MMA.

Hopefully, Pennington cans them.

She's also one of the last fighters who's toughness should be questioned. Her toughness is like the only thing she's really good at.

GSP on JRE the other day was easily one of the best podcasts I've seen. Def for the MMA one's.

After Till missed weight part of the agreement for the fight to go ahead was that he has to weigh in no more than 188lb tomorrow. Is that a common thing in these agreements. Its the first i can remember where they had basically and unofficial weigh on on fight day. Weird spot for Till if he has to rehydrate today but still keep some weight off ahead of that weigh in tomorrow.

Most commissions shouldn’t or wouldn’t allow this.

Weight cutting has to go, or at least be heavily modified from the idiotic system we have now.

I wish Thompson had refused to fight. The only way to force change on the moronic rules now is to hit the UFC in the pocketbook (or have someone die from weight cutting in the UFC). As it is now though, Thompson would be vilified for refusing the fight even though his opponent is the one repeatedly breaking the rules. Just insane.

It's a terrible decision, i think they're copying some random boxing model but boxing & mma is way different, mma guys cut so much more weight on average. It's not healthy for a 170lber to weigh 188lbs after fully rehydrated, not even Wonderboy will weigh that.

It would be awesome if the UFC could monitor guys weight out of camp & assign guys to weight classes based off of their bf% & weight.

This is very much two amateurs. It's like a Robin Black fight.

Kevin Lee walks around 195 but has to cut to 155 for the weigh-in. Insane.

Lee is more than likely fluffy as hell at 195lb though, saw a recent video of him and his bf% is atleast 15%. Fighters like him need to control their diet & stop blowing up after every camp, makes the weight cut easier.

I think i mentioned it before ITT that Ben Askren was on Joe Rogans podcast and talked about One FC's weigh in policy where they have hydration tests and random weight checks that got rid of big weight cutting and the result was that everyone just basically moved up a weight class. They even moved the names of the weightclass up too so Ben was still fighting in the Welterweight division but the weight limit was 185lbs.
