even a fight like Anderson/Cummins should be entertaining, much less Thompson/Masvidal.

Complete bull****. People using less or cycling off more etc etc doesn't mean they are suddenly all clean now. Everyone is on, it was 100% and it still is. 20-30 to 0? Rofl. 100 to 100. USADA is for sure forcing regimes to change but you don't stamp it out in one fell swoop like that.

Exo,

Aside from the finer points of how the testing vs usage race is run, the part of your argument that falls flat is that the sample of people who fight for a living are not risk adverse enough to be deterred the way you express. Their whole lifestyle is based on risk.

LOL at the notion that elite athletes, in any sport, are doing it clean.

Tell me why Overeem is still no longer Ubereem after getting caught? or why did Brock Lesnar or Jon Jones get caught? those are three of the biggest names in mma and all worth in the millions but yet it's so easy to get undetectable steroids and pass these USADA testing but they can't & yet lower level guys can?

Again i'm not saying nobody in the UFC is on steroids, i will never believe Yoel Romero is clean as at 40 years old he's bigger, leaner & more explosive than the elite 20 year olds but at the same time let's not act as if USADA hasn't vastly cleaned up the sport & that both the fighters and the fans haven't seen the effects. Not even sure if USADA is good for the sport tbh, was clearly more entertaining pre USADA & not like we have had any deaths or anything in UFC.
All testing does is drive a wedge between the "have's" and the "have nots".

Top level guys can continue to get harder to detect **** while low level guys have to chance it or go without.

People respond to incentives and athletes are incentivized to cheat at the highest levels. The reward is just too much.

I remember watching Hall's season of TUF and thinking he was gonna steamroll people in UFC. Fair play to him for surviving that 1st round and getting the win.

Literally blinked and missed that.

Hall has some of the best standup weapons in MMA. Just doesn't always get into position to use them. Sometimes through fault of his own (attitude and tdd mainly) and sometimes his opponents have out game planned him. Sure showed some heart and resilience tonight though. Also he can also explode from bottom pos with the best of them.

Yeah that fight went quick.

Gr8 night of fights for the ufc, Platnium nation in full effect & it looks like they have a replacement for GSP if he pulls out of ufc 217, probably a better & more meaningful fight with bisping vs luke 3 for the mw strap.

What do you think would be the biggest non-Conor/non Ronda PPV fight for the UFC?

Nate Diaz vs Lee/Ferguson winner?
Woodley vs Bisping/GSP winner in a superfight?

Probably GSP vs. someone, maybe Anderson, if he loses to Bisping

Don't think Diaz v. Lee/Ferg really moves the needle that much

Woodley and superfight don't belong on the same sentence.

- Nate diaz vs Khabib/Ferguson would be big, probably 500-800k ppv buys
- Bisping vs GSP is going to be huge despite the reservations people have
- Khabib vs Ferguson earlier this year was on track to be huge tbh before khabib pulled out
- Miocic vs Ngannou/cain could do 600k or so ppv buys
- Joanna vs Valentina for 125lb belt
- Cody/tj winner vs DJ does well i think

I don't think anyone of those fights break 1million ppv buys on its own but GSP vs Bisping fight on ufc 214 might just because i feel the fans are saving up for that event & it's the most stacked card of the year.

p.s watch out for that 170lb division, Usman, Covington & Platnium is coming, if Platnium can get that belt he's the next superstar for the UFC & will break 1mill ppv buys everytime, a big IF though.

I think GSP vs anyone would do solid numbers ( 500-600k+ ) given the right promos.
217 is insanely stacked though. It should really do 1mill+, depending on if the UFC promote it right.
