If Conor had had the 155 belt, 170 wouldn't have been a consideration. He was being opportunistic getting a fight in at that weight class. Right now if a 155 title fight was set, it's not like he'd have the flexibility to randomly fight at 170 if they missed weight.

I was speaking to why they fought at 170 instead of the catchweight Nate requested. I wasn't confused about the timeline or thinking he bounced up to 170 to spare his belt from Nate.
The thing that started it, that you took out of my quote, was about a fight with Cody at 150lb (where the catchweight situation would differ) after someone had broached them fighting at 155.
