If Conor comes back to the ufc it's only to fight nate diaz in a trilogy fight as there's alot of $ to be made in such a fight as well. If khabib had fought & beat Ferguson for the interim lw title i think he would've come back for that fight as well cause khabib is strange enough one of ufc biggest stars due to his russian following. Gsp if he looks good vs Bisping could get in the mix as well.

GSP and Bisping prbly never fight if Conor is willing to fight him. That's the fight. Then a 170 title shot depending on who it is and/or then a fight with Nate.

If GSP were to beat Conor, that would serve as a tuneup fight for a 170 challenge for him also.

Yah, I can really only see Conor vs. Nate or GSP. Khabib doesn't seem like a big enough draw and is a terrible matchup for Conor. Big chance Conor gets held down and pounded for an extended period of time.

Probably a longshot, but if Cody puts on another show in his next 2 fights he has the potential to be a huge star and maybe has the balls to go up to 155 to face Conor for a massive payday. Cody's the same height as Floyd, so maybe the size difference wouldn't be too pronounced.

Conor won't fight Khabib, especially now that Khabib isn't reliable. Conor not gonna waste his time on someone who won't show up.

BTW getting KO by Floyd for 100 million > than fighting Khabib lol

Conor wouldn't fight him mainly for the two reasons Fossil gave but it boils down to risk vs reward, and yeah that also extends into the opportunity cost of building a fight with him that falls through.

Going up two weight classes would kind of be farcical. Wonder if Conor would ponder a 150lb catchweight fight. He didn't want a catchweight with Nate but that's so he could say he fought at 170 along with the fact that he wasn't risking a belt.

Apparently, Matt Hughes drove in front of a train.

Had to be airlifted from the scene.

Wonder if this was a CTE related event or just an accident. Hope he's alright.

The wording on the ESPN article made it sound like an attempted suicide.

Probably not the best comparison. Cleveland Williams was among the hardest punchers, so he was dangerous. That doesn't go away just with being shot and old. Nothing like Macgregor, who does not even punch like a pro.

Best mma show of the year is 2night people, bellator having a stacked STACKED SHOW!!!

Chael Sonnen vs. Wanderlei Silva
Fedor Emelianenko vs. Matt Mitrione
Champ Douglas Lima vs. Lorenz Larkin – for welterweight title
Champ Michael Chandler vs. Brent Primus – for lightweight title
Zach Freeman vs. Aaron Pico

BELLATOR 180 PRELIMINARY CARD (Spike, 8 p.m. ET)

He wasn't going to be risking a belt vs Nate because he didn't have the 55lb belt until after he fought Nate and Nate isn't making 45. They fought at 170 the 1st time because Nate was a replacement fighter and was coming off the couch. Nate asked for catch weight of 160 or 165 and Conor responded with 170.

Best card wat?

Chael vs Wand is an awful fight. Chael looked like utter **** vs a years past his best Tito...

Fedor Mitrione... Fedor no pls, stahp. It's over. He lost to maldonado if not for lolrussia judges.

The rest of the card is decent tho.

If Conor had had the 155 belt, 170 wouldn't have been a consideration. He was being opportunistic getting a fight in at that weight class. Right now if a 155 title fight was set, it's not like he'd have the flexibility to randomly fight at 170 if they missed weight.

I was speaking to why they fought at 170 instead of the catchweight Nate requested. I wasn't confused about the timeline or thinking he bounced up to 170 to spare his belt from Nate.

The thing that started it, that you took out of my quote, was about a fight with Cody at 150lb (where the catchweight situation would differ) after someone had broached them fighting at 155.

Phil Davis reminding everyone why UFC got rid of him despite the fact he is consensus top 5 LHW. Very boring fighter.

They should've put Larkin/Lima before the PPV starts if they wanted to get people excited for it.

Was actually gonna buy this PPV but for whatever reason its not even giving me the option to buy because its already started. Tried on 3 diff tv's and even plugged out the cable box to see if that worked. Looks like im being forced to stream it. What a disaster
