lol @ anyone who thinks pbf has a shot. McGOATger will absolutely dominate him for ~10 rounds, then knock him out with a huge left hook. After the ref raises his hand to make it official, he'll promptly roundhouse kick Mayweather to knock him out a second time.

Im totally in on the above scenario

Floyd would 100% take an L if he could make a billion off of it.

The problem is that in order for him to give up his record, he'd absolutely HAVE to be able to take credit for it and since he obviously cant come out and say "lol took a dive and got paaaaaid", he's not going to do it.

So Dana sounded pretty confident that Conor is gonna defend his belt this year. Also said that this fight is Mayweather Promotions and Conor McGregor. I wonder if part of the deal with allowing him to make this fight with Floyd is that he honours what is left on his UFC deal or he forfeits what his money from this fight to the UFC.

So how many PPV buys does this get?

The range for this thing seems huge. I could see it getting close to 5M buys.

It doesn't seem like the public is going to think it is a joke and reject it and we only see like 2M.

I think it does get ridiculous buys but afterwards boxing and MMA ppvs will suffer for awhile. Because this is such a circus I think the fallout will find people bored with the usual fare.

I think a fairly big portion of the MMA fanbase will buy it just coz Conor draws. I think most boxing fans will think its a joke but after 2 months of build up of Conor hating on boxing that they will hate Conor so much they will tune in wanting to see Floyd destroy him.

Well yeah, usually lot of money can be made when there is a large disparity on expected value and real value.

The social media created a "bubble" on CM even tho his credential is totally bs in boxing.
So lot of people get "lured" in it and will buy it.
Good for them if they get paid (CM and floyd)...

I mean, lot of peoples gives a lot of credits to social media.

Conor vs random ufc bum gets 1.5m buys bro, vs mayweather & media hype train gets on it there's no way it does less than 3mill, i'de say it does 5mill+ tbh. This will be the biggest fight in history imo.

This is the fight Floyd could win with one hand tied behind his back.

Mc's only saving grace is Floyd will be happy to out point him and dance around him for 12 rounds.

The odds on this fight are the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Casuals must be pumping on McGregor. I think this just as a pure investment opportunity you got to bet the farm. No one could play the stock market better than the odds you can get on Floyd. You can get 1/10 when it should be whatever the odds are on Floyd having a stroke/heart attack and dying in the ring before the fight starts.

you could get 1/5 on betfair 10 minutes ago. pretty large volume traded, i guess a lot of irish people just woke up. insane.

(you can still get close)

Conor was lolbad in that sparring video. This fight will be like Ali vs Cleveland Williams. Pure, unadulterated domination that ends in a few rounds.

Does anyone actually believe Conor really thinks he can beat Floyd in a boxing ring? To me Conor just Conor'd the mma world again only this time added the boxing/sporting world to it. It really doesn't matter if he loses and I don't really think he cares tbh. He's going to make millions then he's going to complete his mma contract and retire rich, young and pretty damn healthy as far as fighters go. He's basically freerolling Floyd. If he loses as expected he makes millions and loses to the "goat" boxer of all time without really affecting his mma credentials/money making potential. If on the off chance he wins he makes millions and goes down in history. It's pretty much win win.

Conor's normal fighting stance is so bad for boxing: straight back, chin high up in the air. Obviously he won't train like that but it's going to be difficult to overwrite years of training in a few months.

I'll watch cuz I've wasted money on far stupider things and will root for the small chance mcgregor pulls it off

Every Mayweather fight sucks. Nitting over this one after being subjected to pac is lol

Also there needs to be some arrangement where both buffer bros are in the ring doing introductions

this is insanity. I won't even pretend to know much about the inner workings of sports gambling but I feel like this will be the fight where there are massive syndicates working to invest in betting on Mayweather. I would be interested to see if you had just bet on the favorite in every single boxing ppv for the last 5 or 6 years how much money you could have made I feel like the favorite has one very disproportionately for the odds given. I guess that would not be that hard to check. I know I know vegas knows all but I think that is less true in a niche sport like boxing where there isn't near as many data points

edit- I suppose that probably wouldn't even prove much if it were true since Mayweather has only fought on ppv in that time period and obviously won them all plus ppvs are gonna usually only be with guys who keep winning

Dana said CM wants to fight again in UFC later in the year but he even said once he cashes that check then who knows what happens. Said he has seen it all the time in both sports and business that people get a big lump sum and just pack it in.

I feel like CM is gonna make 9 figures on this thing once all the PPV splits come in. He probably fights Diaz again but not sure there is too much else he tries to do. Maybe fight at 170 and try to get 3 belts if he feels it is a winnable fight. Or if Khabib can get his act together then vs Khabib in Russia.

What a $ grab they engineered.

I think this may be the freest money in the history of sportsbetting. Don't even have to worry about it being rigged for Mcregor because Mayweather wants that 50-0 so bad.
