I'd happily shovel money that Amir Khan would destroy McGregor in a boxing match nevermind a top 10 boxer of all time. I don't care if he doesn't usually finish. McGregor doesn't normally fight 12 rounds. He will die. His only chance is to win in the first punch.

I just realized I am rooting for Conor to Aldo him. It is the only good outcome, and it would be more than good. Anything else would be a let down, even if he holds his own to lose by decision.

Any possibility they make it only 8 rounds or something? He's gone 25 minutes so he could do 8.

I think it will look something like the Gatti fight, but man, it would be glorious if the stars just align for Conor one time ;D

Weird situation for Floyd tho. On one hand you got 3M people tuning in, all the hype, 3rd rd KO may not be giving them their money worth. On the other hand, it would be somewhat embarrassing for 1 of the best boxers of all time to not KO an amateur very quickly.

My guess is Floyd probably compromises on these two things and KOs him somewhere around rd 6-7 but who knows.
I default to Kellerman and he echoes what Od2d is saying.

I do give Conor that very real 2-5% chance, or whatever it is, of him being able to brawl the boxer and land a shot. We're all human.

I don't follow boxing but has Floyd's chin been tested or is he just too elusive to know?

Mosley landed on him.

That just makes me think Conor has even less of a chance

This fight will be an absolute joke.

lol he might break his hand! Yea, of course CM has a small shot of doing what Brad Pitt could do in Snatch but I highly doubt Floyd is even going to get in there with him and throw toe to toe for a few rounds, he'll wear him down. Manny got in some good shots on Floyd, but he is so damn elusive.

Can't read, most skilled boxer of all time.

Floyd has had an iron chin throughout his career. Barely gets hit flush so people tend to underrate it but Maidana, Judah and Mosley all hit him flush in their fights.

McGregor can't hit him harder than that. Unless he brings a roundhouse kick.

Yeah. Honestly I would back Michael Conlan no questions asked vs McGregor even with the weight difference. As long as he could bulk.

I dont think conor would win but at the same time i think his power is being underrated a bit. Dude has the kinda power where you can see the first shot he lands in a fight the other guys facial expression changes as they realise he just hits harder than they expected.

It will likely be a bloodbath where conor gets destroyed but im watching for the 0.001% chance that conors natural power and likely unusual boxing style allows him to land one flush.

Once Dana went on Conan and said he thought it would happen, it was clear it was on.

This fight, however, will draw in all the casuals, all the MMA fans, and all the boxing fans(Floyd going for 50-0 is a huge deal in and of itself).
Meh, Conor's a big star, Floyd's a big star, but you're not correct on the bolded. The numbers of that fight vs. later fights (which were objectively as competitive or more) show that.

Floyd's chin is made of iron and Conor is wearing 8 oz. gloves and not 4 oz. MMA gloves.

Floyd is a vile person, but the best defensive boxer of his generation. LOL @ this fight.

Chino (2nd gif in my above post) has massive power. At the time of his fight with Floyd he was 35-3 with 31 wins by KO. He hits Floyd with his power shot while Floyd is launching his upper body forward to throw his own power shot.

This is absolute worst-case-scenario for Floyd and he gets stiff legged for a moment.

This is not MMA, this is box. Respect Box

No question Floyd's chin is underrated. I wouldn't compare it to GGG or Jake Lamotta but it is very good.

Floyd could knock out Conor in the first round if he wanted to.

Floyd is famous for his "Starting 6 inches outside of punching range and lunging at his opponent with his guard down" strategy, the same as Eddie used there, so I think Conor may have an edge here.

Also, goddamn how awful with Eddie? His striking is just such ****. That gif is priceless, he just leaps forward with a straight right hand and stands there watching after it misses until Conor crushes him. Good lord
