Jesus. That Elkins fight was crazy town.

The fact that there was a near finish from strikes without mitigating back and forth moments makes it a 10-8 in my book.

Wonderboy did nothing of note otherwise in the round.

I feel for wonderboy, He has fought two 5 round fights vs Woodley and won 3 rounds in each fight and has nothing to show for it.
New rules aren't taking effect in Vegas until July or August per Rogan.

What's bizarre is that the judges in favor of Woodley didn't even score it 10-8, or call any round 10-10. They just gifted round 2 to Woodley.

Knowing that the 3 rds WB won didn't do as much damage as that rd combined may have influenced giving a 10-8.
I have an open hypothesis about guys who clearly lost the first round being gifted the second in a close round.

Only natural/human to want the third round to mean something!

I don't think it is that bad of a 10-8 either, he rocked him pretty bad and almost finished the fight.
Especially in slo-mo replay, looked like Wonderboy might've been out and got waken up with a subsequent shot.

The bizarre thing is the 10-8 didn't even matter. Just winning the rd got him the majority decision.
Agreed, should've been either Wonderboy or draw imo.

Dont want to get stuck up on the 10-8 because 2 judges scored 3 rounds for Woodley and thats why he won.

I just think the judging was crazy in that fight,

Agree it was a bad decision to give Woodley the W, but the right decision still has him keeping the belt and they aren't fighting again for awhile anyway.

My take on it is that it wasnt some prolonged attacked in the final round. Wonderboy wasnt saved by the bell or anything. It was a fairly even final round that i would give to Woodley then a 30 sec spurt where he looked like he had a chance to finish. I mean if that is a 10-8 round then you can make an arguement for every round being 10-8.

Again i have no idea why im getting soo annoyed bout the scoring for a round that didnt even matter but i just cant help myself.

I dunno, you hurt a guy that bad and you definitely got an argument for a 10-8 imo. The fight was almost finished.

WB put himself in that spot, fought passively the whole fight and allowed himself to get tagged with 30 seconds left. It was a falconsesque choke.

I would argue Woodley is the one who fought passively.

I dunno who decided to do these pressers individually rather than everyone together, but it is lame.

They've done it either right away, or shortly after, IMG took over.

It's been AIDS. Some of my favorite moments have been stuff like this:

I remember after Nick lost to GSP he was talking about how he might go to jail because he hasn't paid taxes and Dana is just standing there like WTF?

Bob Bennett the NSAC head was at the presser and said the 10-8 was unacceptable and they went over it in the debriefing they do. Said didn't affect outcome regardless.

I didn't understand why Hunt fought before the women lol. Should have been second to last.

How does anybody give Woodley 3 rounds? Insanity.

No way there's a third fight either. That **** was boring. Other fights really good.

Hunt and/or (especially) Reem prbly have things in their contract as escalators for co-main status would be my guess.

Both fighters lost all 5 rounds. Strip tyron of the belt, give it back to lawler, make GSP cut weight back down to ww and fight him for it. Then have bisping fight romero instead.

Also if there is a wonderboy-woodley 3, make them fight in a phonebooth

I really don't care who won the Woodley/karate kid fight, the fight sucked. If this was a school yard fight though, I would rather be Woodley showing up for school the next day.

I never mind fighters going slow and feeling each other out for Rd1, but Rd 2 was much of the same and it's not like they haven't fought before, their last fight was 5 rounds vs each other. By Rd 2 of fight II, they have 7 rounds on each other, just fvcking fight.

I doubt we ever see a third fight. Thank goodness.

I don't know. They have only fought for 50 minutes. Another 25-100 minutes of cage time with those two may be needed to really settle the question. I'd hate to see a couple of razor close decisions come back to haunt their respective GOAT arguments years from now. Run it back as many times as it takes.

Good point. Especially Reem would have that I think.

He is probably the biggest draw in the HW (not saying much but still), his fight with Stipe did OK on PPV.
