I guess he can just go back down to 170 wth an L but losing to Bisping not exactly great for GOAT marketability.
Wow, that looks like some good value betting on Bisping. GSP is 35, coming off a 3 year layoff and fighting a guy 20 lbs bigger than him. Yeah, GSP is GSP and I know Bisping is 37 but I'm putting some money on Bisping at those odds.
Kinda wishing we had gotten GSP vs. CM Punk for the lulz and then give him Bisping. If you're going full circus mode might as well take advantage of a freebie for GSP that would sell PPVs and "hype" him back up.
Because a guy who hasn't fought in 3 years is coming back to fight for a title in a weight class he has never once competed at. Not only that but MW is one of the deepest divisions in the UFC with 2-3 other genuine contenders. I am a huge GSP fan too and think he is easily the GOAT but it is still absurd for him to come back and jump into a MW title shot in this context.
LolKhabib and all but this does go back to what we were talking about on page 498 of this thread.
3 weight classes between 155-185 is pretty nuts at this level.
New owners aren't diluting the prestige of a belt (lolinterims and all but making 2-3 new weight classes is a different story) by making more weight classes anytime soon.
They don't want it to be like boxing where belts don't matter.
