i understand and believe he would deserve it, but the time-frame seems pretty bad since theyre fighting next month already...

junior will have to wait like a full year?

Kirby,

If you're JDS and you beat Nelson, would you rather sit out a year or risk another fight? It kind of sucks but when you're guaranteed a title shot you generally take it. And JDS absolutely deserves one with a hit list like Werdum, Struve, Cro Cop, Yvel, Gonzaga, Nelson. If he beats Nelson he has nothing left to prove to earn a title shot.

he will have basically the same time-frame as Cain

The problem I have is the consistency, sochousky got stopped protecting himself in the same fashion earlier in the night, but brock did not. This is unjust in a way, but different es and title bout I guess. Saved by the bell and the ref, I guess.

do you mean soszynski?

and the brock non-stoppage was 100% correct, regardless of what happened earlier. Only a few of those shots from Shane landed cleanly, and Brock was deflecting most of those shots and punching back/kicking away. He was never out and he never stopped defending.

Fun gif:

That guy is lucky Harris didn't crush his wind pipe.

Full gif of the slam. Harris needs a step up in competition soon.

Pretty nuts that Fedor (who is essentially the same size as Shogun) isn't ranked there.

Classic Hero-turn with Lesnar's closing speech.

No love for the Heavyweights.
wow, that is shockingly bad

How the **** do they justify Edgar at 4? He barely beat BJ (or maybe not at all), he doesn't really have any impressive recent wins (he out boxed sean sherk, who couldn't?) Maynard bet him two years ago and is still undefeated. Why isn't Maynard in the top ten then?

Lol at Fedor and/or Brock not being in there too

lol @ rashad 10th and fitch 6th... Come on now.

No HW's on a p4p list is pretty standard. Only reason Fedor was on there for so long is never losing and hes a pretty damn small HW.

Standard =/= correct. Brock dominates his weight class more than Frankie Edgar does.

The only thing I really like about that list is they put aldo #3

That has absolutely not bearing on pound for pound. And this is why these lists are pointless cause no one knows that pound for pound means.

yeah i saw that p4p list the other day and immediately decided that was going to be my last ever visit to sherdog

Sherdog makes that kind of stuff as controversial as possible, to attract people to post on their forums - up their hitcount/etc/etc so they make more money.

it's surprising how much stupid stuff gets put up on 'respected' sites'. Even BloodyElbow had a writer with a blatant troll-job post immediately after Lesnar-Carwin about how he wasn't impressed by either man. He actually quoted GSP and said "I'm not impressed with your performance". The entire BE community raked him over the coals in the comments and he got into girlish-bickering fights with half the commenters on the site. Sherdog does this stuff all the time, as do most websites.

I prefer the UG because at least the trolls there are open about trolling and don't try to pretend to be objective commentators. If you don't read the UG, visit the forums on mma.tv. Easily the best MMA forums on the web for insider info, connecting with fighters, and the general pulse of the mma community. It's filled with stupid sometimes but if you can sort through the stupid there's a lot of great stuff.

Yeah I just lurk the UG, everything else is too troll infested to bother with.

I would start an account there if I didn't have to pay for the right to post pictures (LOLWTF)

Chris Leben made me a fan this weekend. I've never particularly cared for him, didn't really dislike him but didn't really like him either. But after watching that fight again I am turning into a Leben mark. Here's a guy who just clearly loves to ****ing fight. He loves his job and you can tell, and he basically never has a boring fight. Look at these moments from between round two and three and you can tell he's just one of those insane people who's idea of a good time is being locked in a cage to fight someone.
