Imagine the NHL drafting some guy who is really good in his rec league because he was popular on YouTube.

As for the card tonight, it was one of the best in a long time imo. I was so glad to see Shogun win.

apparently the bell centre was singing ''**** you koscheck'' after the faking was shown a couple times. Too bad it was hard to decipher on ppv

Tonight I watched this UFC stuff for the 1st time. The Kimbo vs whoever fight: Is that the way most heavyweight matches go? Honestly, who ****ing pays money to watch 2 out-of-shape jabronis hump each other? The guy punching/touching Kimbo in the 2nd round: are you kidding me with this ****? And the main event goes 2 minutes? Never again.

theyre at the bottom of the heavyweight food chain, but like in any other fighting sports, they do get tired a lot quicker than lighter weights. I thought mitrione did great, but he was indeed really gassed out to finish the fight once he mounted him.

Ya I was being kinda a smartass cause I hate Kimbo so much. Mitrinoe could be good with a lot more training.

Man I don't know what you see in Mitrione, he didn't do much standing except some nice leg kicks, got taken down repeatedly before kimbo gassed, failed to looked in three or four subs v. someone with a weak ground game, and took quite some time to finish off the fight. I'd take Nelson at -400 v. him.

Omg, Nelson would kill him. I would take Nelson at -600 vs Mitrione.

I am just saying he is not Kimbo bad, but that is a REALLY low bar.

This is a terrible terrible analogy. A NHL team's goal is to win not to sell a lot of tickets, also a season in the NHL is 82 games long, you can't sell a novelty act all season. UFC isn't forming a team to beat another organization they are attempting to do 1 thing be more popular and make more money than other MMA orgs. Hating Kimbo for no other reason than he's marketable for a fight or 2 until he gets exposed is really stupid reason. The guy is likeable, he's not a douchebag he's never disrespected the sport and he actually has a winning record. Kimbo entered the UFC as a 3-1 prospect, he won a sloppy fight and then got dominated and is now cut, no biggie. But I guarantee you this will be the highest selling PPV of the year and a good deal of that has to do with Kimbo. He's cut now because after that showing nobody is going to pay to see him fight again and he showed if he is getting dominated by an MMA newb he has no hope against anybody else on the roster.

and im sure koscheck added some more smacktalk when he had daley on the ground in round 3.

he plays the bad guy really well, but the faking sh*t for points isn't MMA, thats soccer. gtfo w/ that. hope GSP crushes him.
Regardless Daley should've been deducted points he attempted to hit Kos with a knee to the head while he was down, there was no mistaking that Kos was still down when Daley threw the knee, just because he missed doesn't mean it should be ignored. Yes Kos did his best to sell it, and it really didn't land but if you blatantly attempt to do something illegal it shouldn't be ignored just because you missed.

If you ordered this PPV to watch Kimbo fight you're an example of why the UFC put him on the PPV portion. Anybody who follows MMA knows Kimbo and Mitrione were probably the 2 worst heayweights signed to the UFC. And with 4 ounce gloves you get quick KOs it's what makes the sport exciting.

Really? It was the dudes 2nd career fight, I guess 4th if you count what happened on the TUF show. He's a total MMA rookie, he has a lot of potential. The guy didn't throw a kick or attempt 1 submission in his first 3 fights but he picked Kimbo apart with leg kicks and surprisingly Kimbo didn't tap from that first triangle attempt. He seems to be improving extremely rapidly, he is a legit prospect IMO. If he could ever get some takedown defense he could actually do some damage in the HW division.

Great, great win for Shogun. And this is coming from a guy who was rooting for Machida.

TBH, I'm kinda glad Shogun won. Spice LHW up and now we have an air of uncertainty (well other than the fight that we are reminded how deadly Shogun really is) in the division.

I love Koscheck's heel turn. I find him awesomely evil.

The knee seems to clip Koscheck just a tiny, tiny little bit.

He's obviously selling the hell out of it like a soccer player who got breathed on by a defender in the box.

That's the way to finish a fight. Best moment of the night for me. I'm happy for Rua. He was very determined to wipe the grin off Machida's face right from the start. Those high head punches when a fighters head is already cocked to the side and the punch forces it further seem to be deadly.

With Shogun's win, the LHW picture is once again a catastrophe of awesome.

Shogun as champ

Rampage and Rashad battling for the #1 contender spot, two former champs who hate each other fight for a chance at the belt.

Lil Nog and Bones Jones ready to pounce for a chance at the big dogs, both awesome, awesome fighters. Ryan Bader is getting close as well.

Forrest and Lyoto licking their wounds, former champs you can matchup with so many other fighters.

Anderson as a dark horse tornado, could tear up anyone in the division at any moment.

Guys like Franklin and Randy coming in from other divisions, opening a crapload of awesome matchups.

And surprising depth all of the sudden for good matchups, with a great mix of good vets, declining guys with big names, young talents. Tito Ortiz, Luiz Cane, Thiago Silva, Chuck Liddell, Brandon Vera, Matt Hamill, Vladdy Matyushenko, etc.

So many things could happen in this division it's crazy.

For the next lesnar ppv, around the time of the main event, is it pretty easy to get tickets? If not, what mark up should I expect to pay if I get them a week before the event?
The MMA Thread Quote

Are UFC tickets easy to sell? I subscribed to that Fight club thing bc I wanna see UFC116 in vegas, I'm pbb just gonna buy 6 tickets but I'm not sure at all how many people will join me so hoping to just sell if there are less than 5 coming with me.

Awesome night of fights btw, loved the Koscheck speach eventhough he's clearly a douche for faking and nice KO by Shogun. I don't get the hate for kimbo as well.

That guy who hasn't beaten anyone since he beat Ken Shamrock, wow that sure sounds like he could make an impact
