Well technically he actually was. TRT uses synthetic testosterone to "level your levels" and synthetic testosterone is itself defined as a steroid. So by him simply going through the therapy he is admitting to using steroids, but that word makes it seem like cheating. If he is doing it on the up and up it's simply prescription medication.

Judging by all the previous build up for this fight. The Weigh-in should be pretty good today.

anywhere I can watch that? will youtube show it live, too?

btw, I've seen sonnen talk about how he has to lose weight before the fight and all.. what will happen if he's still overweight at the weigh-in? will they cancel the fight?

edit: cool, youtube will show it, 5h from now.

Afaik he can be like 1lb overweight and if hes more than that he is given a couple of hours extra to make weight.

If hes still overweight after that then i think Silva would have to agree for the fight to go ahead and it would then become a non-title fight and Sonnen would forfeit a % of his purse for the fight.

I wouldnt worry about it too much. Hes been a wrestler for most of his life before even joinin ufc so im sure he has pretty much perfected a method for himself to cut weight.

If he were penalized the amount would go to Silva too

Sonnen all the way. I think he over does all the smacktalk, However i hope he walks away with the belt. I personally find Silva so boring last year or two and his previous opponents since the 1st fight have all been past it. Lets have a shake up in the division

For a championship fight you have to be on weight, non-title fights have a 1lb allowance.

Boring? Past it?

After the first Sonnen fight, he got one of the all-time great knockouts vs Belfort, who is certainly not past it and is still easily one of the best fighters in the mw division.

Then he absolutely dicked on Okami who is probably at around his peak as a fighter right now. It's not Silva's fault that even a top 5 guy had absolutely nothing to offer in the fight.

I never knew that about the title fights having to be spot on. What's the reason for the 1lb allowance in normal fights? I don't see what difference it makes if the weight class is 185+1 or 186.

to account for any error in the scale, not sure why it doesn't apply for title fights

Ah ok. Maybe for title fights they calibrate the scale more accurately or something.

Nah it's the same scale. Weird rule imo.

My guess is they dont want the title changing hands when the winner isnt even in the weight class of the title.

I totally forgot about this rule. Also Travis Lutter did this when he got his title shot against Anderson and it end up just being a catch weight match with no title on the line.

Exact opposite unfortunately. Not only is testosterone a steroid, its the king of steroids. Its naturally in our body, but if you inject some into your body, say raising your levels to 2 times or even 3 times the normal human male level, you will get incredible results. TRT is made to replace your test only up to normal levels. The loophole is they don't really test their levels and there's really not much stopping guys like Chael from blasting a large amount all camp.

Chael said Silva was trying to bait him into hitting him at the presser to get a DQ and that gif from tonight supports that. I don't think it's so much an intensity thing from Silva as its a "I'm gonna bait this guy" attempt.

Silva is AWESOME and a LEGEND....but he's been a straight ***** when it comes to both fights. It's wildly clear he wants no part of Sonnen.

The "didn't deserve a rematch" was full of LOLs. I mean, Sonnen clearly dominated the fight and got caught in the final mins (totally his fault for being lazy when fatigued & Silva deserved the win obv) but this might be the most deserved rematch in the history of fights. All this hype and anticipation validates that.

He obv hates him (understandable) but it's a horrible match-up and maybe he's more concerned about legacy at this point.

I've watched a bunch of UFC fights but never ordered one at my place. This will be the first.

Theres already a lot of people saying Anderson should be charged with assault/ stripped of his belt/ fined/ cut from the ufc/ etc for this savage attack. For **** sakes Chael didnt look one bit upset, he knows what hes doing, he has said many times he picking a fight. He said **** about Andersons wife etc that went to far, and people get shocked and freak out over a shoulder bump lol. Chael knows whats up.

Ill silva's defense if you really personally disliked someone and he did nothing but disrespect you. After you beat them would you say they dont deserve a rematch.

Obviously i agree with you that its obvious a rematch should take place but i dont think Silva being scared was the reason he wasnt offering the rematch.

As for Silva trying to get Chael to hit him. When Chael said the thing about silva trying to bait him into hitting him to get a DQ, I took it with a grain of salt as it is totally in line with the thrash talk Sonnen has been doing for months about Silva not wanting to fight him again. My view hasnt changed after the thing at the weigh-in.

Chael winning 2mrw would be awesome if it was a good fight and would set up another rematch to complete the trilogy.

Anderson is a bitch for doing that though if you are using the comments about his wife defense. Either go all out or wait 24 hours. Chael being a true professional even though in his dehydrated state that chin check might have gave him a concussion.
