I thought Penn beat Edgar 48-47, but it was close enough that I don't mind Edgar winning tbh. The only thing I have an issue with is the 50-45.

I kinda wish they were doing KenFlo/Edgar and BJ/Maynard.

Agreed. I don't get the UFC's obsession with rematches. You look at the top guy's career fights and so many of them have fought people 2 and 3 times. Prime example is Chuck vs. Tito 3, why would the UFC even think to make this fight? Both are past their primes and Chuck TKO'd Tito twice. If you look at Randy's record he's fought several guys 2 or 3 times, including Chuck 3 times. GSP fought Matt Hughes 3 times in his first 12 fights in the UFC. If Mir would've beaten Carwin he would've fought Brock for the 3rd time in Brock's 5 UFC fights. Thankfully Carwin put Mir to sleep.

Didn't take long.

chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel

If you told me a year ago Sonnen would be fighting Anderson Silva and that I would be cheering for Sonnen, I'd say you are out of your mind. Pigs do fly.

My biggest hope, though, is that Anderson gets actual angry and not fake angry and that the fight is a good fight and not a dance marathon.

I sincerely hope that Anderson easily beats Sonnen in the most boring fight of all time. Maybe then Dana will finally give Anderson a real challenge.

Sonnen is a legit threat, the biggest threat at 185 or lower.

I agree with your second statement, not the first(although I guess this could just be a semantical argument over the word "legit").

Sonnen has a chance. He's still a big underdog, but he may have the best applied-to-MMA wrestling of anyone Anderson's ever faced. And yes, that includes Henderson. Despite having a silver medal, Henderson has never really been an elite MMA wrestler, or shown impeccable use of wrestling consistently. Sonnen just dominated another very strong guy and very good wrestler in Marquardt, and has shown a consistently high level of takedown ability throughout his career.

Was just coming to post this. I actually really want to see this. Mayorga is gonna gas within 2 minutes though and Thomas is going to be able to finish it any way he wants.

yeah sonnen is much tougher test than hendo was, given that hendo thought it was an ok idea to stand with silva and sonnen will be desperately trying to take silva down whenever they're on their feet

I think it's funny that everybody has said the type of guy that can beat Anderson is a strong wrestler now Anderson is scheduled to fight a strong wrestler and most people are instantly saying Sonnen has no chance.

Sonnen has a very legit chance if you look at what guys like Hendo and Lutter were able to do against Silva in the 1st round of their fights. Hendo kept Anderson on his back for the whole 1st round, Lutter did the same. Hendo made the mistake of trying to stand with Silva in the 2nd round and Lutter got himself caught in a triangle after a 2nd round takedown. The one thing that will be underrated in this fight is that Anderson actually has good jiu jitsu and Sonnen has been submitted a bunch of times in his career, so if Sonnen does score some takedowns it's not like he's out of danger.
