Ferguson looks terrible. Ferguson is slow, looks skinny and weak and guys who shouldn't be outstriking and wrestling him are making him look bad, he needs to retire.

It looks like Islam will be the next guy to dominate the 155lb division.

yeah not sure how I feel about Oliviera, he was almost finished rd 1

against someone with better defense than chandler, his coming forward style may not work as well

i'd probably say poirier and even gaethje should be favored over him

Dustin and Justin should be clear favorites over both Oliveira and Chandler, Conor probably too if he stops ****ing around

Woodley vs Jake Paul in the works, damn

Say what you want about Woodley but that is a huge step up in comp for what Paul has fought.

If it isn't rigged, Woodley wins that no?

Yea Idk why anything thought askren had a chance and I’m not sure why they fixed that fight . Woodley should win . Tho isn’t Paul atleast 4 inches taller ?

Jake Paul is one of the biggest draws in the fight game. There are dozens and dozens of known guys that would like to box him. He isn't going to select a name that is likely to win.

Relative to Jake Paul, Woodley is a nobody with little marketability. The UFC just let him go after he got dominated in his last 4 fights so he really can't command much in MMA. If Paul thought there was a good chance he'd lose then don't you think he'd be fighting a much bigger name, for a bigger payday? He's fighting Woodley because:

1) Woodley is unlikely to win
2) Woodley is pretty cheap
3) Woodley has legit credibility in the fight game, so fans will think he has a legit shot of winning (or even that Jake Paul has no shot lol)

I'm not sure how many MMA fighters will need to get beat up in the boxing ring before MMA fans finally get the memo that this ain't the same game.

If Jake Paul beats Woodley it means that Jake Paul actually has some boxing skill because Woodley even though not the most technical on the feet actually is dangerous and can ko anybody + is the biggest and most powerful dude he has fought so far.

Anyone else bummed out that these guys get so much attention ?

I, for one, don't give a **** about Jake Paul. Who the **** is that guy anyway

Paul is going to be a lot bigger than Woodley in the boxing ring. He has just 2 inches of reach on him but at least 4 inches in height. Woodley fights at 170lbs in MMA which is already smaller than Paul but I'd argue that Woodley is even smaller than that for boxing because a lot of Woodley's weight is concentrated in the tree trunks for legs that he has.

Woodley has a puncher's chance and that's about it. He does possess power, but it's not like he's Chuck Liddell either. He had as many decision wins as he had KO/TKO wins and nearly as many submission wins too. Plus those are with 4oz MMA gloves and nearly all of them included follow up ground and pound and would have likely just been knockdowns rather than KOs in boxing.

The biggest problem with Woodley's game though is his output. He had 6 fights go 5 rounds, multiple other fights go 3 or more rounds and yet the most significant strikes he ever landed in 25 UFC/Strikeforce fights was 61. Leopards don't generally change their spots at the age of 39 but Woodley will need to fight completely different than he does in MMA if he wants a decent shot of winning this match.

yeah Woodley being a jacked dude and 4oz gloves definitely is going to distort the perception of his power...His cardio seems like it could be an issue as well, he was always afraid of tiring in UFC it seemed like

I see Paul -140/+120

He will be taller and slightly longer but not overall bigger. Guys in mma cut an obscene amount of weight, Jake Paul would make 170lbs if he fought in mma. Woodley is probably shredded at 190-200lbs while Jake is around the same size as well.

Pretty sick card tomorrow in terms of name value

Izzy/Vettori, Moreno/Fig

Surprised Diaz took the Edwards fight, he keeps losing and it will hurt his future marketability some

Izzy went from -265 to -220 on Pinny, that is a big move for a superstar vs a relative unknown

wonder if he has an inj? shrug

I said on the last page I didn't like Vettori's chances, but it seemed clear they wanted to get Izzy a W at MW going into the Whittaker rematch rather than coming off a loss. That -265 was free as it gets

If that -265 was free money then you should have bet the house on.............Brandon Moreno.

yeah Moreno was sick

I guess Edwards will take the payday and win but not a great night for him with how the Diaz fight ended. Him/Wonderboy (if he gets past Burns) makes sense if Usman/Colby is gonna hold up the division

Thoughts on McGregor/Poirier 3?

Line has moved in Poirier favor and it seems to be on the rumor that McGregor may have a staph infection in his elbow. This fight seems a pretty big deal for Conor, he loses this and he has lost 4 of his last 6 and his star is going to start to fade.

Poirier seems like he should take it, McGregor's prime in this division was almost 5 years ago now.
