Cormier vs JJ 3? or Khabib vs Mcgregor. If neither of those fights take place then they will have a 3 title fight ppv. If both TJ & DJ wins in August i wouldn't mind seeing them fight & they make that the main, not the sexiest but the Nov MSG card will sell regardless of who's on it & TJ vs DJ is a big fight for the hardcores.

Why would it sell regardless of who is on it? You think people care that it is in MSG?

Cormier/JJ in 3 months feels unlikely. Khabib vs someone as the main is probably best bet. Maybe winner of Sats fight, Kevin Lee? Maybe they give Diaz a bag of cash?

Certain cards will always do well my man. Last year new years eve card was okay at best & had Cyborg headlining vs Holm & did the same amount of ppv buys as Stipe vs Cormier this month(400k ppv buys). The MSG card is a marquee event for the UFC & they promote it as such. If Khabib doesn't fight Mcgregor then i think they would be screwing Ferguson by not giving him that shot, i know the fight feels cursed but the fans still want it.

Don't think Cyborg/Holm (Khabib undercard) doing as well as Stipe/DC (Max/Ortega cancelled) is that big of a sign that certain cards just sell. Holm is a big star to casuals because of her upset over Rousey.

A year is an arbitrary endpoint but kinda nuts to think that if McG doesn't fight in '18 then this is gonna be the first year in a long time that UFC hasn't sold over 400k buys in a PPV.

Is Colby injured? I don't see anything concrete. Even if he is healthy expecting a welterweight to fight in 90 days seems pretty ****ty. Woodley has been off for a year, waiting another month or two longer doesn't seem as big of a deal as expecting someone to fight a month or two sooner.

Looks like UFC is screwing up the schedules, Woodley wins he won't fight until Feb, Colby will probably fight someone during that time, and they are still a couple months apart of timing.

UFC had nothing else to put in the main for 228. I think the days of putting Randamie (sp) vs Holm as the PPV main are over with PPV sales being down so much.

Wonder what the break even point is for UFC on PPVs? I know the cable company gets like 50% of revenue.

I think the reasons for the October date is that Mcgregor wants to fight ASAP as he was ready to fight in May & i know he has made a 5fight or 5year deal with some Las Vegas hotel to have his after parties there. I think with that deal he can only fight in Vegas, or am i way off?
