A fight DQ'd himself by doing a flip off his opponent's unconscious body. What a dumbass.

Even worse was that the fighter on the ground knocked himself out by falling face first on his opponent's knee.

I thought you were joking. Man, what a strange flow of events, that's low level MMA I guess.

^ so cringe. I love watching tony fight but man, he’s a real try hard with the press.

Really disappointed with the lack of hype train online content in the build up to this fight. I am so pumped for it but can’t find any real official content so I guess this conference call will have to do until some embeddeds get released. And old bouts on fight pass. Seems like the UFC are slacking on the marketing front for this card.

Tony Ferguson is out of #UFC223. Max Holloway vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov is the new main event for undisputed lightweight championship.

Thats gotta be april fools.

Edit: Looks like Ariel Helwani is confirming it. Does Tony keep his interim belt or is he stripped of that too.

Fight is for the belt so I'm guessing he doesn't keep it if Conor is really next.

The more I think about it the more i hate it. Basically ruins two fights. I was probably looking forward to Ortega vs Holloway more than this fight and now thats likely on ice for awhile.

Holloway/Khabib should still be a good fight.

Only reason Khabib is only 14th in p4p (Holloway is 5th) is because of injuries.

As a side note, Ferguson is 10th.

Shame that Ortega doesn't get a replacement opponent. He is legit imo.

Its not so much that i hate the fight. Its that a couple of hours ago the 2 fights I was looking forward to most were Tony vs Khabib and Holloway vs Ortega. Now neither are happening, well atleast in the short term. Im sure once the emotions and i watch the build up over the week ill be pumped come saturday.

It's a horrible fight. Holloway has nothing off his back.

This is DC/Anderson all over again.

It's not a good fight, Holloway was on the mma hour 2weeks ago saying he just started moving on his leg after his last injury, the dude is probably like 30% & Khabib is also a terrible match for him even at 100%. Ortega would've been a better replacement.

Neither does Conor. Yet some people think he's #1 p4p.

Honestly, I think Khabib is #1 p4p talent and would win against Holloway, Ferguson and Conor.

Ortega would've been miles better.

I'm not really interested in arguing the opinion of casual fans Bob. Funny you bring up Conor tho, that's the guy that made Max look so laughable off his back.

I assume you know this but still walked into it. Maybe not tho.

Does anyone see a line on Khabib/Max yet? Can't find anything.

Would guess Khabib -350

I'm guessing he's higher than that. -425 at least. You might be right for that millisecond at open.

Close will like -470

eta: No line yet probably goes along with April Fools

Ortega is the obvious answer

Reportedly opened at -505.

Does Max have a death wish? I don't get it. Also lol Dana

Max is going to get a fat check and not risk his 145 belt. Makes perfect sense for him.

He was going to lose to Ortega anyway. Still will if it goes down.

For Dana it makes sense too. It's the biggest name 145 (short notice weight considerations), and now it's two belt holders fighting to draw in the casuals. Just sucks for those in the know.

Even breaking up Lee-Barbosa fight and asking Lee to fight for the title or trying to locate fat Eddie Alvarez would make more sense

yeah Lee would've been better than Max but Max will sell more PPV's I'm sure

Good Lord. The more I think about it the more it makes me mad.

Luckily I decided to wait till last minute to buy tickets, I'd be burning $1K+ in the trash can right now. Haven't been this excited for an MMA fight since Fedor-Cro Cop and now it may never happen.
