Sage Northcutt vs. Michel Quinones is booked for the Poirier-Pettis undercard (11-11-17).

Quinones' one UFC fight was at featherweight. This fight will be at lightweight.

I'd hate for that to happen. Its time for mcgregor to defend the belt, his next opponent has to be winner of ferguson/lee this weekend. Seems to be a solid card for saturday

I agree in the sense that the whole purpose of an interim belt becomes stupid if the real champion fights and its not vs the interim champion. Saying that I can see them viewing the Diaz fight as the biggest possible fight they can make in the UFC atm and just going with that.

It's not that big a disaster if he loses. He will draw no matter if he does and it will add huge value to whoever beats him. Long term UFC has to accept this and try to build other fighters.

Innthe build up to the floyd fight he said he initially wanted to fight in the ufc this year because he wanted another payday to go towards his forbes highest earning athletes ranking. He's definitely got enough that he doesn't need to fight again but he seems to want to make as much ad possible

Yeah. At UFC 200 they had Aldo-Edgar fighting for the interim belt even though the the champion (Conor) was fighting on the same card in a non-title fight!

Conor ended up being pulled but that was the plan.

They should maybe call it the reserve or conditional title instead of interim in cases like that.

Lee had a rough weight cut but seems to be doing OK now.

Really looking forward to this fight. 1st UFC fight I've wanted to see since Bones/DC which was over 2 months ago.
