Some? Conor would not beat any 147-154 lb boxer ranked in the top 50 by any major sanctioning body

That is by far the craziest line I've ever seen on a sporting event.

Looks like TJ is probably out of the July PPV and Dillashaw/Johnson might happen in August instead.

Rory looked good tonight. He's the best guy for his weight class that Bellator has ever had right? Maybe Eddie Alvarez/Michael Chandler but I think Rory is a clear top 3 WW.

It's the other way round. It's Floyd that is being disrespected here, by the fact this fight is even a thing. I would back Amir Khan with no chin to smash McGregor nevermind one of the GOATS. McGregor wouldn't be the best boxer in Ireland at his weight class. Against ****ing Money? JFC

That's the **** people are talking.

Conor is great at things that MMA requires, stances, striking, defense, etc. etc. Floyd is great at the things boxing requires, stances, striking, defense etc.

Just because those things share the same name, doesn't mean they're the same in completely different sports with the rules changed. Boxers spend years learning how to move and punch in the way that 150 years time has told us is the best way to box. Conor has spent years doing the things that years of MMA has taught us are the best things to do in MMA.

You can just hop between them and expect to "learn on the job". The bio mechanics of what each requires are different. Floyd is going to embarrass Conor (in exactly the same way Conor would embarrass Floyd in the octagon).

Any boxer around Conor's weight who has climbed into the world rankings would tool Conor from pillar to post. Full stop.

I wonder where conor could top out at if he fully dedicated himself to boxing training for say, 3 years. Top 200?

The only striker I remember watching in MMA and thinking "Wow he could be successful in boxing if he switched" was Jon Jones. But that was during a time when HW was super weak aside from the Klitschkos.

One of the Diaz's tried boxing to limited success but never drew any serious attention.

Can Floyd take Connor's left? That's what I want you boxing experts to answer. Throw everything else out the window. If he hits him with the left can he take it? My answer is no. Can he hit him is a completely different question.

No, he could man. He has an iron chin.

The fight is not going to be competitive.

The fact we are discussing/debating how competitive it will be ITT is the reason why it is getting 2.5-3m buys. Enough people believe that the impossible could happen.

Conors power is muted by gloves twice as heavy as MMA gloves and an opponent who has practiced rolling with punches his entire life.

Floyd has a very strong chin and he's been hit by people that punch as hard if not harder than conor and only been knocked down twice (both times him putting his glove down and touching the canvas).

For reference, and using 4oz. gloves, he was not able to sleep Diaz, who is a semi-practiced boxer. Floyd is a top 20 boxer OAT

Last weeks fight with Eddie Alvarez vs Poirer was a good example of just how hard Conor hits. Eddie was rocked multiple times but stayed on his feet hobbling and got back into the fight. Against Conor every time he hit the left he knocked him down.

Even Nate who has an Iron chin went down with some of Conors shots fighting at 170. Conor really does seem to have that stupid power that makes no sense. He prob wont be able to hit Floyd so it likely doesnt matter bit i think Conor could put him down with his left.

When I saw Eddie taking those Poirer shots I did think to myself "Did he take a dive @ MSG or does Conor hit that hard?"

Floyd's chin is definitely an underrated asset of his. He just doesn't get to show it off much because he rarely gets hit clean.

In boxing, the gloves will be larger and heavier meaning that CMG's hand speed is reduced and his power will have less of an effect. He'll be swinging at air or hitting elbows for the entire fight before dying out.

How you guys going to compare conor going into boxing to michael phelps, a swimmer, doing bike riding which has no cross over to his sport is unbelievable. I'de compare what conor's doing to a heptathlon athlete trying to compete vs the best in one of the several individual categories such as 100m sprint for example. The heptathlon is clearly still a high level sprinter & won't be that embarrassed as people believe, but clearly the specialist is the favorite by a wide margin. Conor boxing is still good despite what people here believe, he will most likely be hitting air all night like what every other boxer does vs mayweather, but doubt floyd opens up & tried to end Conors night, he won't risk getting ko'd.

Conor is going for a payday. He knows he has no chance of winning, and he will retire after the Mayweather fight. He's a punk ***** to the sport, and should be completely disgraced from mma and UFC after his loss

It's a lose lose for McGregor, it's obvious that once he leaves that ring that he'll never fight again, win or lose
