The real circus starts once it is signed & the press conferenced & the hype train starts, this will be the most hyped fight of all time, it should do ATLEAST as good as floyd vs pac.

There is zero chance your assessment is correct.

Masses of boxing fanboys will buy it, even people who'd never buy a mayweather PPV.

Tons of UFC casuals will buy it.

The hype is so ****ing easy to sell.

Boxing vs MMA.

Casual fanbase idiots from both sides will buy. Advertising will be insane, they'll both be on morning talkshows, late night talkshows, internet hype will be insane even if they spend $0.

Casual fan bases bought FM vs MP. My inlaws are big MMA fans and never buy boxing except that fight. I don't see how Conor vs Floyd will match Floyd vs Paq, in anything. I do think it will still be huge.

Doubt it gets close to Floyd/Pac

Probably Floyd/Canelo or Floyd/ODH is a better measuring stick. About 2.5M's

Giving this thing a good undercard so people don't have to feel like idiots for buying it would be a smart move.

Mcgregor gona make a ton of money because a lot of fan think hype = skills.
Man i just hope the fan base of Mcgregor put their money where their mouth is tho.
Better odds to put on Floyd...

De la hoya, Pacquiao, Alvarez and other Great boxers did not get the lucky punch, why in the hell in any "reasoning mind", CM has any chance to deliver it...

There is a reason we say Greatness creates their own chances.
CM aint freakn great at boxing, no way...

The amount of boxing fanboys who buy it will be low compared to Floyd Pac, the amount of UFC fanboys who buy it won't match a McGregor title fight in the UFC. So you are relying on casuals buying it en masse compared to two absolute GOATs fighting each other. I don't know how you can possibly hype this hard enough to get enough interest when one fighter will be like 1/50 to win.

I'm hoping the press conferences/interviews will be gold

Whats the appeal? Some MMA guy gets outclassed in a boxing ring by one of the greatest boxers of all-time? Guess I don't get it.

^^^ People would look at it like that if it wasn't conor mcgregor who's the biggest name in combat sports right now period. Once they start promoting the fight with those two ****t-talkers it will be the best build up to a fight ever. The narrative will also be that floyd is 40, conor is 28 & conor has a legit 20lbs on him & more power & reach. They have selling points due to conors age & other physical advantages so not hard to see how people can see how conor has an avenue of winning.

Having the biggest star in MMA get embarrassed by a boxer in a very public way seems like a poor business decision for the UFC.

I guess there is some amount of money that makes it worthwhile, but this is going to be a big setback for public perception of MMA.

But what if the stars align and Conor straight up flattens him?

Lotsa money for the Conor bettors.

Might depend when the fight is as far as buy rate goes.

I'm kinda thinking it goes under 2.5M but I dunno, ESPN will pimp the hell out of it. Tough to say.

We'll all watch it.

This is the perfect fight for CM haters because it'll be 12 rounds of CM getting his ass kicked by Floyd.

Conor's gonna be gassed after 5-6 rounds, maybe earlier. If he doesn't do heavy damage early then it's over.

I don't think it is anything close to 12 rounds. I'll probably bet Floyd by KO inside 6 rds if the odds on Floyd to win the actual fight are only like -1500.

He'll dance around with him a little but this isn't him vs some top 10 ranked boxer. He's gonna get him out of there sooner than later.

So can Conor go around the ring faking kicks to try get Floyd to flinch or lose focus.
The MMA Thread Quote

lol I don't think so and why would Floyd care if he did?

The minute he kicks him he is getting DQ'd.

I do think in the press conf stuff Conor will tease that stuff. "Maybe if it isn't going well I'll kick you in you're fookin head"

yeah no way he lasts whole 12 rounds

in any case a quick KO is the best outcome for all of the participants - casuals get their fix, PBF is still GOAT and Conor doesn't tarnish his legacy as much as a protracted embarrassment would

Conor should just head butt him or bite him or something and argue he's a better "fighter" after he gets DQd

conor spitting green poison (leprechaun blood) into floyds face while artem distracts the ref is the obvious money play. Sets up a rematch.

Not going to happen, you guys are dissrespecting conors boxing abit too much, conor doesn't knock anybody out anymore with those brittle hands.

Nah by boxing standards, Conor is a **** boxer. By MMA standards, he's a fantastic boxer.

Floyd will manhandle him. Some gatekeeper-level fighters would beat him as well.
