That's true but I could see people turning on the fight if enough realize it is a bit of a farce.

Seems like the media won't cover it that way and is generally in favor of it happening since they are starved for stories though.

Why is the 170lb goat fighting for the 185 title a joke? Bisping might be a bit of a joke but he won the title legitimately.

Dana denied GSP is coming for months then "OH look GSP". I refuse to believe a word he says anymore, especially concerning Mayweather. Not saying this won't be a good fight or anything but he just has double standards all the time. Hasn't GSP been away for years? but he stripped Conor's belts after like couple months.

Because a guy who hasn't fought in 3 years is coming back to fight for a title in a weight class he has never once competed at. Not only that but MW is one of the deepest divisions in the UFC with 2-3 other genuine contenders. I am a huge GSP fan too and think he is easily the GOAT but it is still absurd for him to come back and jump into a MW title shot in this context.

C'mon, he doesn't deserve a MW title shot. Yoel deserves it, then you got Jacare right there.

I get why the fight is being made. GSP can win a belt in his 2nd weight class and it is easily the best fight for Bisping both financially and in terms of chance to win but it is still stupid.

I don't even think it is that big of a $ fight. Would much rather see GSP at 170 vs the winner of Wonderboy/Woodley.

Is anyone really dying to see Bisping/GSP? It seems like a waste of his comeback fight.

And if he wins, I really don't see him staying at MW.

GSP will beat Bisping, then probably retire. I just don't see him hangin with any real contender at 185 and he probably doesn't want to get beat at his 170 class either. It's going to be 4 years from his last fight to Bisping.

Maybe beat Bisping and then hope dust is settled on CM/Floyd by then and fight CM?

But yeah it does seem like he doesn't wanna face the top guys at 170/185 and do 650k PPV buys. He wants big money fights that he can win.

Think Anderson Silva might be on that list too. Maybe a Hendricks rematch if he doesn't have the belt (the minute you give Hendricks a title shot at 185 you might as well just cancel the promotion)
